This is only tangentially related to the DVT, but hey, at least I’m not asking about 90 day reports! 🙂

For those of you who are traveling around Thailand rather than staying put in one condominium, what are you doing about your address for your phone contract/bill?

When I previously worked in Thailand, I received a paper bill in the mail each month, which I think took to a 7-Eleven or ATM to scan and pay.

So I was curious how you go about getting a contract and paying your bill if you don’t have a fixed address In Thailand.

Thanks.

Good morning all.... I'm from the USA and headed over at the beginning of February and going to be there "permanently". I need some advice on cell phones. My phone has dual SIM cards, so I understand that for local Thailand number I just have to get a SIM card there... My question is for USA line.... My understanding is some of the time I will need this two step verification... I am assuming I can do this on the same phone since it has the two SIM cards?... Also what cell service are those of you from the USA using for this process?.... I really am not interested in having a "typical" cost plan from the United States in addition to my Thai plan....any suggestions?

Going to be transiting in Bangkok overnight this weekend. Starting out by Robinson's Lat Krabang. Want to get an esim that night to use as we prepare to move to Thailand. Don't want the tourist kind, rather a permanent esim prepay I can put money on and renew every year or six months. Anyone do this recently. Can I just go to a 7-11 with passport and buy an esim intended for residents rather than short term tourist?

In the everything else category.

So I have bought a sola powered CCTV camera and it is remote so no access to WiFi.

Can you get a pay as you go data only SIM card.

I’m with true and the signal is great where it would be placed and can get 5g. True want to sign me up for another number at 600baht a month and I know that’s for data calls and txts.

If I use that much a month I would pay it but that seems a lot for data.

Question about SIM cards. I went to the AIS in the Lotus by On Nut to get a 30 day SIM card. I asked if they had tourist SIM cards and they gave me a Thai local SIM card, which after checking, is much less expensive than a tourist SIM card. They assured me it would work, but I’m not too convinced based on their lack of English. Can anybody clarify if it would work or if I need a “Tourist Sim Card”. I’m putting it a Samsung Note 20 Ultra brought just for that purpose, to use during the day for Bolt, Grab, maps, surfing for info, etc. I’ll use my Verizon 15 Pro Max for WiFi Calling and surfing at the hotel at night. Thanks.

Recommendations please. Mobile phone plans that include international calls or a plan that allows Hot Spot so I can make wifi calls.

Some friends & relations will download Skype or similar but there are some that won’t so I need to make calls back to Australia a few times a month.
