My DTV has been granted. It took 5 weeks in London embassy.

Question. I always struggle with Sims in Thailand, sudden loss of internet, top ups. Can anyone suggest a continuous and smooth sim please .

Those el cheapo mobile providers actually rent the bandwidth from AIS. At a cheaper rate.

They have no their own masts, no infrastructure, mickeymouse providers.

AIS rellays are everywhere. Yes, True have their masts too. But no hobby class mobile providers have that.

Buy a normal sim card first from a telecom shop for around 50 baht. not 7 eleven or another store. And you can use a postpaid unlimited like me and also it gives around 2200 thb credit so if you cant pay your bill in time that wont be an issue until you fill your credit limit or pay the bills.

AIS. Get your initial sim and unlimited internet package for 30 days. Download the myais app and it will open up a lot of different options for cheaper long term data packages. We just paid 1400 baht for 6 months of unlimited data.

I've got a SIM from True, but I hear DTAC is better. True works fine. Top up in the app. Free data unlimited speed 1 month for 400-500THB per month, cheaper if they have promotions. Been using it for 2 years now and I'm very happy with it

I always ask for an unlimited data sim. Pay around 700b a month. Never let me down and Ive had different providers. Top up each month at the same shop

AIS eSIM (iPhone 16) is 3,800 THB a year (320 THB a month) , unlimited high speed Internet. I use it as a hot spot as a router, never fails. My wife connected to it and watches movies and whatever 24x7.

AIS installed their eSIM, now I have 2 eSIMS, SIM Japan and SIM Thai to switch depending on where I am.

The Thai eSIM mobile phone number is mine, forever. Not recycled after months you said you need it for.

That is important with Thai bank account. When they do a sweep and find that the mobile phone number belongs to someone else and lock your account until you appear in person to provide your current phone number.

Even more immediate, as you land to Thai, you switch your eSIM to Thai and you are on. No scrambling at the airport mobile providers counters to get your Internet access.
