Hi All, yesterday I went to apply for my Special Tourist Visa (STV) extension for another 90 days in BKK, and was told I had everything in order except for 1 document: The ASQ certificate from Department of disease control issued by the hotel you first quarantine in.
I arrived in Phuket on Oct 31st, on the first version of the sandbox program. I am double vaccinated from Canada. At the time, all you needed was to quarantine until you get your first negative test taken at the airport. I got mine within 24 hours. Then you were to free to leave your Hotel as long as you stay in phuket. I checked out on Nov 15th, but was not given this form. From what I understand, the hotel was not issuing this document at the time. I reached out to the Hotel, and they claimed they could not issue this document for me, but will look into it with immigration and see what they can do. I'm a little worried, but have some time, my current visa is valid until Jan 28th.
Question1: Am i missing something here? It feels like I'm being squeezed out due to changing requirements due to covid.
Question2: Any recommendations as to how i should proceed?
Thanks in Advance! I believe everything will work out, but the doubt is starting to creep in.
TLDR : Answer Summary
A user seeks advice on extending their Special Tourist Visa (STV) in Thailand, specifically regarding the absence of their ASQ certificate from the hotel they quarantined in. The user has been informed that the certificate is required for their visa extension but claims the hotel did not issue it. Through community responses, it is clarified that the ASQ certificate is necessary for visa renewal and suggestions include contacting the hotel for assistance and reaching out to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) for further support.
