If i apply for a new UK passport, am I able to still travel by air in Thailand? I believe waiting time at moment is 11 weeks.

I have a thai drivers license as ID but I am always asked for my passport for domestic travel.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I am on a retirement visa, however, my British Passport expires in late August 2023.

I have been informed the issuing of a new British passport will take a minimum of eleven (11) weeks.

My problem is how do I transfer my Thai retirement visa on my old passport when I don't have a valid passport whilst waiting for my new passport to be issued?

Update on UK passport application. Just got notification from VFS in Bangkok that my childs first passport has been delivered to them and awaits collection. From being sent to the UK processing and returning 23 days, so not too bad. The UK passport office is now on strike for a month so big delays now possible.

I work as an English teacher in Bangkok and have just changed schools. As my old school cancelled my Non-B, I did a Visa run to the Kanchanaburi/ Burma border last week and now have a standard one month visa on arrival (ending 1 September 2018). My current school will apply for a new Non-B but cannot do this until the results of my police clearance check comes through (should be 1-2 weeks), which means I will most likely have to extend my visa again at the start of next month.

The problem is that I am now very limited on space in my UK passport (down to a couple of half pages + quarter pages) meaning if I do another visa run then I may not have space for the Non-B stamp.

I want to apply for a new UK passport but understand that I will not be able to travel on my current passport during the application process. Seeing as it can take up to a month to receive the new passport then this makes it impractical if I need to leave the country by 1st September.

I would really appreciate any sensible advice anyone may have on how best to handle this situation.

Hi there, I need to apply for a new UK passport as my current one has run out of pages; therefore there is no space for any more visas. I am currently in Chiang Mai and have a non-immigrant O visa which expires on the 10th January. I understand that I need to travel to Bangkok for my application. If I apply for my new passport ASAP (I believe early next week would be the soonest for the appointment) would I get it back in time before my visa expires and if not, would this then be a problem? Any advice you have would be very helpful!
