My brother and I are going to Thailand for the 3rd time since April 2 weeks each visit. We have US passports. Are we going to have any issues going back?
Answer summary
The post discusses concerns about re-entering Thailand on the third visit within a short period. Key advice includes ensuring you have three necessary proofs for entry: proof of funds (20,000 baht), proof of onward travel, and proof of lodging. Many commenters share their personal experiences, noting that as long as you are a tourist and haven't overstayed, you are likely to be fine. However, some caution that frequent visits could raise questions at immigration, suggesting that obtaining a METV (Multiple Entry Tourist Visa) might be beneficial for frequent travelers.

You'll probably be OK as long as there's some time between the trips so they don't appear to be border runs. But one question, if you come that often why not just get a METV visa?
Actually I flew to Thailand from NJ, USA twice last year and once to China from NJ too. I've already done it twice this year and will being home again in December.
If you’re being tourists then you won’t have any trouble. The red flag is when someone stays for many months and is trying to work or do business illegally.
Go through a different airport like chiang mai because bkk or Phuket will definitely send you back I seen this dude get sent back and it was just his second time
and he probably came without a visa, did the full 60 days with a 30 day extension, and then left and returned immediately. Nothing like the situation explained in this post.
Only if you overstayed or if you agree to become a drug mule to help smuggle some of the large stock of cannabis that was rendered useless by a recent sensible adjustment of the law.
Stephen Anthony a visa does neither cleans the slate, nor does it guarantee entry. The slate is just 6 weeks within the last 12 months. They are okay coming for 3 weeks and should be able to show the three famous proofs
My biggest issue is will the exemption still be 60 days or 30 days. I will be there 6 weeks, wondering if i should apply for a 60day visa or hope 60 day exemption stays
Just make sure you have the 3 proofs required to enter as a tourist.
1) Proof of funds (20,000 baht or equivalent in another major currency IN CASH ONLY).
2) Proof of onward travel (your ticket out of Thailand within 60 days).
3) Proof of lodging (a reservation for at least the first few days of where you're staying).
With these 3 things, it will be difficult for them to deny you entry. Most likely you would receive a warning before they ever attempted to deny you entry. But if you've only been in Thailand for 6 weeks so far, you should not be at risk.
