Do US passport holders need to apply for the Digital Arrival Card when entering Thailand?

Hello, I just looked at Google to see if there are any changes regarding Visas for US passport holders and I believe I never had to fill out any papers in the past i believe it was called Visa on arrival which was good for 30 days but I noticed something different this time unless I just never noticed it before ,do I need to apply for this ;??

You don't "apply" for the TDAC, in the sense that it can be granted or denied. It's just an electronic arrival card.

And yes I explained the Visa on Arrival the wrong way but I knew folks would know what I was talking about…I’ll check Google again a week or so before the flight just in case anything changes..🙏🙏🙏🙏

The digital arrival card is required for all non Thai nationals, you are required to complete it up to 72 hours before your arrival in Thailand. Make sure you use the correct Thai government website as some people have been charged a fee by using 3rd party websites. This is a free service.

You never applied for a visa on arrival, you were given a visa waiver good for 30 days, this was extended to 60 days over last couple of years and has recently been reduced back to 30 days, but still hasn't been enacted

You will be given either 30 or 60 days visa waiver (depending in when you arrive, before or after they government Gazette the 30 days mentioned above

TDAC is mandatory for entering Thailand filling no more than 3 days before arrival if you are not a Thai PP holder

You've never used visa on arrival, which is where you apply for and pay for a visa at the airport.

You have used visa exempt in the past, which is not any visa. It means you are exempt from needing a visa. It currently provides 60 days on arrival but is possibly changing back to 30 days soon.

The TDAC has nothing to do with how you are entering Thailand (visa or not). It's a requirement for EVERYONE who does not hold a Thai passport. You fill it out anytime within 3 days of your arrival.
