Do I need a return ticket or out of Thailand flight to travel to Thailand? I saw this requirement for 90 visa, but I don’t know how long I will stay in Thailand and where I go next, Bali or Vietnam or Philippines, if I just order a one way ticket, am I allowed to enter Thailand? I am from America.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When entering Thailand, the requirement for a return or onward ticket varies based on the type of visa you hold. For a 90-day Non-O visa, there is no need for an onward ticket. However, if you're traveling on a single-entry Tourist Visa, you may be asked to provide proof of onward travel, along with accommodation and sufficient funds, upon entry. It's important to check with your airline as they may require proof of onward travel before you board, and immigration rarely checks this but can do so at their discretion.

Stupid people, do your research.

Technically you do need an exit ticket, but not a return, if you enter as a tourist.

This is rarely checked by immigration but frequently by the airline that’s taking you to Thailand.

There is no 90 day tourist visa. Depending on nationality you may be qualify for a 60 day visa exemption.

Your airline may require proof of onward travel. Check with them.

As I said, I am trying to find a good place to retire and I want to visit these places to see, so I am not sure how long I will stay in Bangkok and where would be the nest destination, maybe Philippines or Vietnam or Portugal, it will all depend on my feelings at that time, so now I must do a plan? Buying tickets? Saying 30 days in Thailand and 20 days in Vietnam? Not feeling good being forced to, I am not sure if should visit these famous islands in Thailand or just stay in Bangkok, not sure if I can buy a train ticket to Vietnam will work as someone suggested

If you’re just coming in with your passport for less than 60 days, I think you’re going to need a return or onward ticket. Maybe you can get one that you’re able to change the date if you need to.

You won’t need a return ticket for sure. But you might need an onward ticket for travel within the time of your visa. You have a 90 day visa from your home country?

Buy a $7 Train ticket to Laos border and your problem is solved.

I think you may be talking of the single-entry Tourist Visa which had 90 day validity and gives you 60 days on entry. If that is the case you could be asked for the 3 tourism entry proofs :

- proof of accommodation for at least your first few nights (hotel booking or a letter of invite from a Thai)

- proof of onward travel (international travel ticket leaving Thailand within your initial entry stamp exit by date, currently 60 days)

- proof of funds (20,000 Baht or equivalent in any major currency in CASH per individual, or 40,000 for a family)

If you have a 90 day non o visa you don't need a onward ticket .

If you apply for a 90 days Non O visa you’re excused from onward ticket requirements.
