Hi everyone,

I am planning to apply for the DTV soft visa (thinking about applying in Indonesia), but I am facing a timing issue and would appreciate some advice.

I need to leave Thailand in mid September. One of the requirements is to show 500,000 THB in a bank account for 3 months. The account has only been funded since the end of August, so technically the 3-month period would run through August, September, and October.

My questions:

* Does it make sense to wait until early October and then apply, since it would be around 3 months, or is it a strict requirement that I need to complete the full 3 months?

* Should I try applying already in mid September, when I leave Thailand, for example in Indonesia or another embassy, or would that be a waste of time if the funds have not been in the account long enough?

* If I really need to wait, what would you recommend in the meantime? Should I just get another visa exempt entry? This would be my third this year, and I hold an EU passport.

Thanks for any advice from people who have gone through this process.

I did a visa extension back in February then went back to the states for summer.

I'm back in Chiang Mai now and I recently did another extension so I'm at two for the year.

After this extension I plan to do a border run so I can start over.

But I plan on being in Thailand another six months so is there a better visa I can get?

Hey everyone, I’m looking to move to Thailand later this year however will still have 15 months until I reach 50 years and qualify for the retirement visa. What’s the best approach to bridge the gap? Tourist visa for 90 days followed by ED visa for 1 year? Many thanks!

Hi, I've been in TH for the last 16 months and am heading home for a long while (UK) in 4 weeks. My visa journey: exempt -> 1 year ed -> tourist + extension -> tourist + extension.

I'm wondering how a fresh passport would affect this process? Say I came back in a year with a fresh passport, would I be treated as a new traveller or would their systems still flag me?

My plan long-term is to get a Thai Elite visa and be done with it, but need a few more years of saving for that.

Hi, I'm on my 5th consecutive tourist visa from Vientiane, each of which was extended for 30 days at Chaeng Watthana.

Last time there was a warning issused in my passport that any further tourist visa applications may be rejected. But I did read of some people getting 7 consecutive tourist visas from Vientiane.

What do you think is likely to happen if I go there again and apply for another? Thanks
