Ok I have issue with my travel for work and getting new Non O based on marriage so hope someone can give idea of timings at HCM? My current visa expires 14th June. I am currently in HK and return to BKK this thursday so get a new stamp for 90 days, but cannot go to Savannakhet until visa expires, and I have to come back to HK next week 13th June and my visa will expire when here so I do not want to risk re entry on a return ticket and try t get in on 30 day exemption so will plan to fly BKK to HK then to HCM to get visa then back to BKK so need to know if I apply monday what time am I likely to get visa next day as I do not want to stay Tuesday night as well so need to look what flight can be booked.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on the timing for obtaining a Non-O visa based on marriage at the HCM Consulate, as their current visa expires on June 14th. They plan to return to Bangkok this Thursday and are concerned about the re-entry process and scheduling around their work travel. Comments suggest that it is possible to collect the visa the day after applying, which may allow the user to avoid an extended stay.

When you enter this Thursday, you should be stamped in until September. Get a re-entry permit when you leave on 13 June and you can still re-enter Thailand and keep this permit to stay. If you are traveling often, get the multiple type. That will give you a lot more time to arrange for your next visa, or if you meet the requirements, an in-country extension of stay for 1 year.

Thanx

That's a good suggestion to keep that last 90 day entry stamp "alive" so they can exit/re-enter on it after the visa itself expires :)

Ok got it, thanks, may be worth doing that as it might give me enough time to get BOI visa

Previously, you didn’t need the re-entry permit as your ME Visa was still valid.

No, on your entry this Thursday, you will be given 90 days to stay (stamped date will be in September). When you leave on 13 June, getting a re-entry permit will allow you to come back and resume that permit to stay. You will not start a new 90 day stay. But that means you have until early September to get your next visa/extension.

Really? So I already have a multi entry visa which expires after I leave and you are saying that if I leave and pay for a re entry permit on a ME Visa my 90 days will be re started on re entry?

I went to HCMC recently, I collected at 1.30pm the day after applying and left straight for the airport at 1.40pm! It’s a small consulate, very friendly and helpful! Smooth sailing for me.
