Why was my tourist visa application returned by the Thai consulate in Canberra?

I noted someone had applied for their tourist visa too early. After asking a question about trying to stay longer than 30 days with pre booked flights and accommodation I was advised by many to just get the tourist visa.

I applied straight away instead of waiting as I assumed with all of the flight and accommodation info supplied my visa would be when I needed it.

I was amazed to receive a call from the consulate in Canberra and was told they were sending everything back and to reapply nearer to my stay. It only cost me the 2 reply paid envelopes. I am applying again next month for a stay of 50 days starting late November.

@Daryl ******
what a great thing they did (y)

We just had another poster who got an eVisa from a consulate in the west that issued it even with their travel dates at the end of Dec.. Their visa will expire before they come here ๐Ÿ™

Thank you for your Report.

It's nice to hear that the Thai Consulate in Canberra let you know that you were applying for the SETV single entry tourist visa too soon.

Lucky for you๐Ÿ€
