TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus in the comments suggests that applying for the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) should ideally be done within 1-3 months before your intended travel date. While some users mention that it is possible to apply earlier, particularly up to 4 months in advance, most embassies may not process applications if the intended travel date is more than 3 months away. Additionally, it's important to clarify that the DTV is considered more of a tourist visa with specific renewal requirements, rather than a long-term stay visa.

Apply 2 months before you intend to arrive.

Some embassies will not start processing your application until it's closer to the flight date, so you may be stuck on pending for a while

Most embassies will not issue you a visa if your intended travel date is more than 3 months away.

Which visa are you interested in, the DTV softpower or the DTV remote worker?

Realize that DTV is just a tourist visa, and not really a long stay visa. You have to do border runs at least every 180 days, and nobody knows how long that will be done as easy as it is now.

1-3 months before you arrive in thailand is what embassy suggests....

You can do it. Keep in mind that it becomes active and the 5 year countdown starts once approved.

I read that it shouldn't be done prior to 3 months of travel. Is that no longer advised?
