TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is experiencing delays with their NON-O visa application just days before their planned flight to Thailand. They express frustration over the embassy's customer service and the uncertainty of receiving their visa in time. Several comments discuss the typical processing times for visas issued by the Royal Thai Embassy in London—suggesting that while the embassy is usually fast, it can take up to 15 business days. Others provide advice on tracking the application status and mention previous positive experiences with the embassy. The conversation reflects common concerns among expats regarding visa processing issues.

Me and my wife recently did ours and it took exactly 7.5 days. We applied Thursday morning before noon and it arrived 00:25 following Friday.

What does it say in status? If it's still pending document check, it could take longer but once it moves to pending approval it completed same day

Where you see the application you made, to the right hand side is a box you can select to view your application, click that which takes you to a page where it shows all stages (pending document check, pending approval and so on). Pending document check is stage 1.

The application is done online, you don't get an email until you receive the visa. Your friend will have to login to look.

The London embassy is usually very fast and issues visas within a week. But I believe they advise it can take up to 15 business days. There's nothing you can do to hurry them though

I actually saw threads saying they got visa s in 3 days my son s birthday in 3 weeks been going over18 years 3-4 times a year but my mum has short memory loss so I couldn't plan anything more than 2 weeks before flying and first come first served telling me it s common sense which she s lacking not everyone is going on holiday many go for family and tell me to cancel and go later I lose £1100

can still go and enjoy the visa free 30 days on arrival.. this can also be extended.. I am sure once in Thailand you will be able to arrange something. Maybe fly out after 30 days and get a simple 60 day tourist visa in a neighbouring country . At least you won't miss the birthday .. good luck

there's no reason to fly out to get another visa. He'll receive the visa he applied for either before he arrives or after. If after he just needs to leave and return to activate it.
