Hi. Have the rules recently changed regarding foreigners born in Thailand...specifically...if the child leaves Thailand for the first time, and re-enters after a week, will the child need a visa? Or will the child stil be visa free until the age of 15? Both parent's are foreigners... thank you

Seeking expert advice here:

a) Looking to apply for STV (is this the best option for long term 90 days stay? since.. 1) I'm not looking to marry, 2) I'm just working hybrid and would like to travel more of Thailand as I work)

b) Plan to arrive in Thailand 6 September, travel to Siem Reap 10-14 Sep, come back to Thailand. Question: Does this "reset" my 90 day stay or how does it work?

Does the 90 day means I shouldn't exit Thailand?

c) Read up on the STV requirements and it seems I need a Thai insurance, as well as one from my home country. AND a medical declaration endorsed by a doctor to show I'm disease free. All adds up to $$. This is all necessary right?

Thank you all, I just spent 30 Days here on Visa-Exempt, heading home Monday and planning to apply for the visa back at the embassy.

Hello everyone. I hope you are all well and having a good morning. I like to visit Phuket in a few weeks on Visa-exempt with the 30 day's extention, but I cannot figure out what kind of return ticket I should buy. Is it 30-days or can I also buy 60 days return ticket? I wonder if the airlines will not let me on board or maybe the Immigration will not give me the visa stamp. Thank you so much for your help. Have a great weekend everyone. Stay Safe!!!

Fresh news from Chiang Mai Immigration. Yesterday I and my husband extended our visa stamps for 30 more days, using the embassy COVID letters. We were done in just one day, stamped till October 26. And no "under consideration" stamps.

*Ukrainian nationality, entered on a Visa-Exempt stamp on 14 March, then went on amnesty.*

Where: Chiang Mai immigration office at Promenada Mall, 2d floor.

Documents *(everything in just ONE copy)*:

* Passport

* Passport copies (first page, page with last visa stamp, departure card)

* TM7

* TM30 slip copy

* Embassy letter (I printed in color, but not sure whether this is necessary)

* Two more forms they will give you at the place (one of them a form acknowledging the overstay penalty)

* ONE photo

* 1900 batt

At the entrance our documents were pre-checked. We received our queue numbers and were asked to come inside to wait for our turn. Then we submitted documents, paid 1900 batt each, photos of us were taken, and 15 minutes later we received our passports back with stamps saying that we can stay in Thailand until October 26.

The whole procedure took us 2 hours. Everything went very smoothly and calmly. The workers were very polite and open to help.

I know that many applicants said that firstly they received "under consideration" stamps, but in our case, it was an actual extension. Also being at immigration I noticed that those who were with US passports had to prepare all the above-mentioned documents in two copies. Have no idea why. Maybe everything depends on the country… Anyway, it is always better to come yourself to immigration and find out what exactly documents you need to prepare.

Hope this info will help.

I am US citizen in BKK, entered as visa-exempt 29 days ago. I'm going to the Centrail Investigation Bureau temporary office as I believe thats the location I'm supposed to go for extending 30 additional days, normal 30 day extension, not the covid extension (which maybe ill have to do next month?) I should be able to follow the normal procedure for extending right without covid exemption?

Does this new temporary office have photo and copy facilities like the regular office has? Is it worth going there at 7:00am or even earlier tomorrow? Any suggestions for timing? I plan to have snacks and reading material as I know I could be there a while...

Anyone wanna share a taxi tomorrow morning from Prakanong area, or the end of the BTS line?
