Rant alert….

I love all the questions about "how many times can I enter visa exempt".

They're almost always followed by comments of "I did three this year" or "I did 10 so far and have no issues - so you'll be fine".

No one can answer this question with any authority. That's because there is no rule. There is no limit. It is completely up to the discretion of the immigration officer you hand your passport to on arrival.

The guys that had no issue were probably dealing with Sheila. She's happy in her life and likes to think foreigners are good for the economy.

Those that have issues are the ones that hand it to Brian. He's having a bad hair day and about to get his car repossessed. He's apt to take out his depression on foreigners that try to enter his country twice in a calendar year. For no other reason than he's having a bad hair day.

Obviously those two scenarios are made up by me, but that's the type of issues you could encounter at an immigration counter where you have no idea whether you're dealing with Sheila or Brian (and I'm not trying to be sexist in any way here - make up your own names or genders).

No one can answer this type of question. One person could have got in 23 times this year with no issue, but someone else could be questioned or even denied on their second attempt. The latter is probably far fetched but in theory it could happen. We don't know and we can't say, because it's at the discretion of the individual officer.

Good morning people, with a multiple entry visa, can I do with an expired METV visa, a further exit-entry into the country using the additional 60 days visa free granted as an Italian citizen, or do I have to necessarily return to Italy? Let me explain better ... I enter Thailand in early November and in early January I ask for my first 30 day extension (total: 90 days), After that, I would do a visa run for another 60 days and finish in early April ... Now I have another 60 days, in theory the last ones, but just before my visa expires, I leave and re-enter and get another 60 days (so far, I have always done this and have never had problems) ... At this point I usually return to my country ... but if I left again by plane, could I get another 60 days exempt from the visa with the new rule? Thanks to anyone who can advise me. ... better advice is obviously welcome ;) have a good day everyone

Is it essential to have a return flight booked on entering Thailand on a tourist visa?

Hey everyone, just after some advice. I’m 29 years old and work in the mines. I travel to Thailand every two weeks on my RNR and from what I know Australia has a free visa and it says you can enter the country as much as you want as long as it’s from the air. My issue is, I’ve applied for a multi entry visa and currently waiting on it because I don’t want to be denied entry due to going over too many times and obviously I want to the right thing and I know immigration will start to become suspicious after a while. Is there any other visas I can get to stay in Thailand and still travel to Australia for work? It almost seems impossible just purely because of my age.

If I arrive in Thailand without a visa and receive a 30 day tourist entry stamp can I be sure that I will be able to extend this for at least another 15 days at the immigration near me or by leaving the country and re-entering by air.

Thank you.

Considering an option as I have done 2 land border crossings and would like to stay for 1 more month if possible but if not will fly back.

My current VISA free entry stamp runs out on 12/10 and was wondering (and I know it is up to the I/O at sight) if it would be possible to visit an immigration centre (currently in Bangkok) and get a 30 day stamp. Technically I arrived on 9/8 got 2 land border stamps with the expectation to return but would love another 30 days as seriously planning to retire here soon now
