So I just got my DTV Visa at the thai ambassy in laos.
Just to give you heads up.They are denying a lot of visa if you don't have some type of work contract or letters to prove your legit employment abroad.
They ask For minimum three months bank statement but in some cases they ask for 6 month.
You need to have the 500k on a single bank account for that period if you just dropped 500k just before application they might deny it.
If the money is spread on several account they won't receive your application.
Also don't make any carpets with post it they hate it.
Keep it super simple.
The form with already glued pictures. Copy of passport with exit stamp of thailand and entry in laos. Well written in capital letters.
Proof of hotel in laos and in thailand.
Work contract abroad and the 3 month bank statement. The the other 3 on the side in case they ask for it.
That's enough.
If you go there asking questions they won't help you out. They will tell you to read the website. They have almost 200 applicants per day so they are pretty busy.
You need to have an appointment before going there.
Even if you queue number is 55 you can go early in the morning and drop you application they don't make you wait until it's your queue number so that's nice. They open at 9 am and People arrive at 8am.
Print everything in thailand. The places near the embassy are just crazy and want to charge you 20bath for a copy or print. Away from the amabassy you can find places that will print for 1000rip per page tho but far away.
PS if you look for a great place to eat go to "la Terrasse " great food and great price we ate there all week with my wife and kid.

Non immigrant B in HK, I assume this is a very straight forward process that doesn’t require bank statements, and the 3 proofs for immigration upon returning, or does it?
