I am in Cape Verde. The nearest embassy is in Senegal. The website automatically selects Dakar for application submission.

My question is whether I can apply from Cape Verde under these conditions or if I have to travel to Senegal. Thank you for your insights.

How long does it usually take for the Thai consulate in Hong Kong to approve DTVs? Is it a relatively easy or difficult process compared with other Thai consulates in Asia?

Hi everyone! Grateful for your help 🫶 I am both a Aus & UK resident (live with family in both places so have residency proofs). Currently in Aus for 8 weeks before heading back to UK for 6 weeks which is where I will be going to thailand hopefully on the dvt from. Do you see any issues applying for the DVT now in Aus, but my statements will be a UK bank account + UK employment? My dependent will also be applying after (I'm guessing the location he will apply from will not make a difference then?)

Has anybody had recent experience of applying for a non o visa in Vientiane, Laos? I plan to do it next month. I topped up my UK bank account with the ฿400,000 equivalent amount this month. Does this money need to be 'seasoned' the same as is the case for yearly extensions done inside Thailand? Or do they just want to see you meet the financial requirement of 400,000 baht equivalent by providing a bank statement at time of application? Thanks in advance for helpful responses.

I’m old and usually confused! 😁 Is there any Thai government office in Chiang Mai where I can go in and actually talk to someone? I am clueless and am visiting Chiang Mai on a tourist visa next month. I really want to sit down and talk to an official about what my retiree visa options are, what steps I need to take and when I should initiate. I‘ve read so much conflicting information online and I’m not smart enough to weed through the misinformation on my own. I know where the eVisa website and have used it but can’t figure out some “chicken or the egg” questions that I have.

I’ve been asked for 3 months bank statements (I initially supplied a closing balance only) and my payslips.

I had a large one off payment which contributed to me having the 500,000 baht within the last month. Am I likely to be declined because I haven’t had the required funds in my bank for 3 months? Can I explain this with a letter saying it’s a gift?

Currently doing my first online 90 day report with my DTV, what do i put for “Stay Visa Expire”? The date my visa ends or the day im leaving next?

My wife is going to purchase a house shortly in Phrae province.

As we have to return to UK in 6 weeks time (whilst I am here on a 90 day visa so won’t be extending it this trip) how long does it take to get a blue book which I guess would only be in my wifes name?

Would this entitle me as married to a thai, the yellow book which, when I return to Thailand Oct ‘26, makes things a bit easier for opening a bank account in place of a certificate of residence?
