I've been here now for 10 days can I now get my 30 day extention?

I think that we who bought tickets before the change of stay should be grandfather's in for the 60 days. Thailand is in the needs to stop bouncing around on days of stay.

Who cares about any other countries? We're talking Thailand where the rules change every year and yes even with a 60 day visa you still have to go apply for an extension. Simplify it by just asking on arrival or application if you want the extra add on.Brandon ************

they don't change ever year. They rarely change. Visa exempt has been 30 days for decades. It was changed temporarily as a special case and was clearly noted that the change was temporary. Now it's back to normal. That's how it has always been done and that's how other countries do it as well. They aren't trying to cater to you.

Under new amendments, can I come into Thailand on a 30 days visa free entry and then apply for an extension for a further 30 days? My return ticket is on 7th March. Ie my total stay is 46 days. Will they let me enter Thailand and then apply for the extension before my the free stay expires or or will they make me leave the country after 30 days?

Marianna Pace had problems this month with Thai Airways, couldn’t check in online and they had to call the supervisor to allow us to board, I had a train ticket out within 30 days so we were allowed board

Marianna Pace Airline might not let you on the plane without a valid visa or onward travel. Buy a bus ticket to laos or somewhere to show at check in or get a 60 visa

That depends on where you'll be applying. At most offices you can apply when you have 30 days or less left, but some like the islands (Koh Samui, Koh Phangnan) and Pattaya will send you away and tell you to come back a couple of days before your current stamp expires.
