Hi everyone,

I’m pretty new to this so please excusey ignorance on it all but wondering if anyone has experience in applying with a dependant?

My partner and I currently live in Australia and although we are not married, have a legally registered relationship and share a partner visa here.

Any help would be greatly appreciated 😃

Thought this article was a good point of discussion.

[members only]

So many people make it seem like Thailand's labor and immigration laws are crazy or out of the ordinary, when it couldn't be further from the truth.

"As long as you don't get paid, there's no law being broken"

"They won't care, everyone does it"

"I signed up through an organization who said it was okay"

The woman in the article signed up with "Workaway" to live with a family in the US and help around the house. In return she was fed and had a place to sleep. She then was going to do the same thing in Canada but was stopped when they found out what her plan was and denied entry, as that is considered work in Canada. When she was sent back to the US they took her into custody for working in the US, and now she is being held pending deportation.

Thailand's laws are not unusual in any way. Work is work, whether you are paid for it or not. If you are on a visa that is work restricted, you CANNOT work, you CANNOT volunteer, you CANNOT do anything that could be considered work in any way. You risk being arrested, banned and deported otherwise.

Good morning.

To obtain the non-immigrant O retirement visa annual extension using the sum of the bank deposit and pension income, is required a sort of income certificate, but it's not clear to me, I need to find precise and reliable information on which documentation must be shown to demonstrate the requirements (again: the sum of the pension income and financial deposit that reaches a total of 800,000 baht).

In addition to the obvious bank statement, I don't exactly understand what must be shown regarding the pension income and where, a possible document, can be requested.

Thanks for the help, it will be precious as usual. 🙏

Hi All ,

Are there anybody who knows about this ?

According to the law, anyone who stays in Thailand for over 180 days out of a calendar year will be considered a tax resident by the Thai government. You will be liable to pay Thai taxes on your foreign income if you are a tax resident, even if you hold a Destination Thailand Visa.

I just arrived on DTV which was finally granted in the Nick of time.

Couple of questions for the group.

1) if I move hotels, or get a condo, does that mean I have to tell immigration via some form?

Someone said something about a TM30…

2) at this point I’m heading to the USA for a couple of weeks in December, departing 94 days after my initial arrival in Thailand.. does that mean I have to do a 90 day report before I leave?

3) what’s the official website for filing this 90 day report (if needed)? I don’t want to end up at some scam page.

DTV documentation was really just a printout with no guidelines about on-going requirements so it’s a bit hard to find info.

Thousand thanks.

Hello

Has anyone tried to apply for a spouse dtv visa, by showing an official and notarized document from your home country, stating that you are spouses without marriage? Our home country acknowledges such relationship and considers it equal to marriage.

If you have such experience, especially in Vietnam, please share!

Thanks

Recently someone mentioned from August 2024 when you do a visa run to Laos you must stay 2 nights and are not allowed to come back same day even on a “O” visa.

Anyone here with recent experience?

Thank you in advance
