I got my DTV 🥳🥳🥳

I wanted to share my experience in detail to help others.

I got a Workation DTV visa from Ho Chi Minh. If you go to Vietnam to apply be aware you need to apply to the embassy based on where you stay in Vietnam. I’ve attached the list as this is only available when you first apply.

My situation is a bit complicated as I have a few companies so I only told them about the two relevant ones. One I used as a sponsor that has high reserves and the other I pay myself a salary from. One mistake I made was thinking the 500,000 baht should be in the sponsors bank account. It must be in your personal account but when I got asked to evidence this in the additional documents they requested they accepted that I had transferred the money on the day. I wrote an explanation with my bank statement and it was fine.

One thing that makes the application hard is that the evidence for each request must be one single PDF. I used I love PDF to merge and compress my documents which worked brilliantly.

I wrote a very comprehensive document on my businesses with pictures, links and screenshots to really show that they are legitimate. I also merged the company registration document and accounts to show the business is bina fide. I still got asked to provide a Company overview showing details about its history, vision, mission, products, and achievements. I did this for both companies along with evidence of registration, directors etc.

I also got asked for:

Pictures of every page of my passport

My personal bank account 6 month statements

So put in as much as possible.

Also book somewhere online where so you can provide it as evidence of being in Vietnam and also your flight.

Any Dutch people here that got the Workation DTV owning their own business in a working company + personal holding structure?

Did you apply as self-employed or as remote worker? As legally you’re employed by your personal holding?

APPROVED - Los Angeles, 5 hours. I didn’t believe it could happen, but it happened last week. I read dozens reports of 30+ days, and saw one or two of <48 hours. My goal was to try to get this right on the first run.

This group helped me a lot so I wanted to add more info. Context - im an entrepreneur with business partners so it was a little bit more complex, but spent a good 5 hours getting everything properly in order. Here’s what I provided for the Workation DTV:

* Passport biodata

* Drivers license

* 3 months of bank statements with 6 figures of funds, with name and address matching license

* Cover letter on company letterhead explaining who I am, my company, explaining that I can work remotely, and confirming that I will not to any work in Thailand for outside companies or within the Thai labor market

* company registration documents (articles of organization)

* documents proving my ownership in this business

* one page visual portfolio of my company

* my LinkedIn profile one pager image

Looking to apply workation DTV in Ho chi Minh.

I'm hired as a remote contractor. My company can provide Employment letter, however, I only worked there for 2 months. I have proof of requirement for 500k baht savings already.

Wondering if I'll absolutely need payslips for the last 6 months.

Note that i get paid in digital currency so im not sure how i can show salary payment in bank account. I do have tax returns for my prior employment years, though it wasnt remote.

Hey all thanks in advance for advice. This is a very nerve-racking week and need any final insights.

I had my EDU visa cancelled for June 15th and the same day I plan to fly to Taiwan or Philippines.

My plan is to apply for Workation DTV visa.

I have been teaching online for 6 years now but will get my father’s (same last name) 6 months bank statements which show a couple million baht + a sponsor letter + a signed photocopy of his passport.

I will make a professional portfolio as a freelancer and bank statements + income proof for the last 6 months.

Of course there a few other required documents like copies of my own passport etc which I’ll get

But basically is there any extra advice or suggestions on Taiwan vs Philippines?

Also e-visa vs walk-in?

I will also dress quite well and look professional.

Any more advice will be much appreciated!

I had done a 12 month education visa in Thailand in 2023, so I thought they might ask to see my passport pages. They never asked in the end.

I found an awesome site for pdfs. Much faster than some other more popular sites

UPDATE: APPROVED!

Yesterday I submitted application for workation DTV at HCMC. The form by default does not have an upload section for all the docs rumored to be needed (letter of permission, business registration), so rather than combining lots docs into one, I just submitted only what was asked for and hopefully they reach out for the additional ones.
