Slightly more involved than that, once you enter Thailand on your Non-O visa you need to go to your immigration office and obtain a residence certificate, then acquire a Thai SIM registered against your passport, and then go and request to open a bank account and deposit the required funds. It all needs to be done in the first couple of weeks as the funds must be in your account for 2 months before applying for the extension of stay. Did you get married in Thailand or elsewhere?
this is pretty good advice but I suggest that you make an inquiry at the bank you want to use as a first step. Doing this saved me time and money because not all banks have the same requirements to open an account. I use Krungthai Bank and I found them very reasonable to deal with.
Yes, thatโs how we have to do it as well. He needs to be added to my Tabien Baan in Thailand, and we also have to get our marriage certificate translated into Thai. We got married in the U.S.
then there are some additional hoops you need to jump through as well as translation of the certificate. You should get the certificate apostilled by the FCDO office in Milton Keynes and then approved by the Thai embassy in London
Marko Martin Fernandes with that "paperwork" you need to get your marriage registered inside Thailand. For the application to the 1-year extension of stay, Immigration wants to see a fresh printout Kor Ror 22 from the local Amphur. This is a marriage registry printout
