Hi! I was wondering (as a freelancer), I have a contract written in Spanish that needs to be translated for the DTV application. Would it be fine to do the translation myself since I'm bilingual, or should I go through an official translator? The cost with a certified professional would be around $300 to $400 for 7 pages, so it will be helpful to know how did you manage to do it. Cheers!
Subject: DTV Medical (Pending) - 3 Month Fund History Question
Profile: Filipina, Unemployed, Sponsored by American Partner (Retired Visa holder).
Category: DTV Medical (Dental Treatment Plan).
Agent: Thai Agent.
Timeline & Issue:
Dec 19, 2025: Funds (1M PHP) completed in my personal bank account.
Dec 25, 2025: Applied via Agent (submitted Dental plan, Relationship proof, & Sponsor’s bank docs).
Jan 22, 2026: Status became 'Pending/Paused'.
The Reason: Embassy is strictly requiring a 3-month bank statement history of the 500k THB equivalent in my own account. My funds were only 1 month old during review.
Plan:
I am currently in Thailand as a tourist. I will fly back to the Philippines and re-apply on March 18, 2026, once my funds reach the 3-month mark.
Questions:
Has any Filipina/sponsored applicant been approved after being "Pending" for the 3-month rule?
Is March 18 a safe date to re-apply, or should I wait longer?
I applied as a digital nomad at the embassy in Vienna. I make iphone apps, and I have a US-based company. The latest document request is "The company registration documents were not issued by the Austrian government. Therefore, you will need to have these documents certified by the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C. This certification is required to verify the existence of your company."
Now this would take months to get (shipping documents from Austria to legalize the certificate of company formation at a state level, federal level, then by the embassy in Washington). Does anybody have experience with this?
Can someone please suggest some medical insurance companies for the visa that are accepted by the Thai embassy? And do I need the attached document from the embassy that they will fill out?
I’m an Australian citizen currently working remotely in an IT role. I’m planning to apply for the new Digital Nomad (DTV) visa for Thailand — either directly myself or through an agent.
My goal is to continue my existing remote job while living in Thailand for an extended period. I’ve read through some of the official requirements but would appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through the process recently.
Is it generally a straightforward application if you’re already employed remotely by an overseas company?
Any tips on what documentation or approach worked best — especially regarding proof of income, tax obligations, and how to structure the application (DIY vs. through a visa agent)?
Thanks in advance for any guidance or first-hand insights!
