can anybody recommended a UK translation and document legalisation service in UK for my marriage cert and passport .
been looking at notary services and apostle and the prices are outrageous. it can’t be this expensive as it’s two a penny in thailand ….. or it was in the 90s when i last went through all this stuff

I did all that in NZ 2020 had it all stamped looking good after married and living in NZ for 16 years, got to Thailand, local Amphur said could be fake documents as far as they were concerned my wife in NZ still single in Thailand.  Went though the process here by using a company  in Bangkok   they did the NZ Embassy an Thai internal Affairs for me think it cost about 4,000 baht   took it all to the local Amphur issue letter saying yes we are married for immigration . Now go to local Amphur and get letterbeach year for visa.

Fit translation we used someone in Scotland.  For getting it certified as all good we sent to Thai embassy in London via post and visit £10.  DM me if you want more details if you are in UK

hi it was a u.k. marriage cert legalised and translated . the apostle service is £45 with .gov the legalisation is £150 per doc it seems. all silly money for a doc from a registry office that you would think would be legalised anyway. and the passport. just nuts the hoops you have to jump through

I got my documents apostilled at Milton Keynes and then scanned them in, and emailed to my wife in Thailand. She printed off and had them translated for 300 baht. She then scanned the translations in and emailed them to me. I printed the translations off and posted the original documents, apostilled documents and translations to The Royal Thai Embassy in London for certification. The details are on the embassy website. They stamp the translations as accurate and return all documents to you. Alternatively you can take the original and apostilled documents to Bangkok and get them translated. Then take them all to the MFA so the translations can be stamped as accurate. You cannot get official UK documents apostilled in Bangkok as that can only be done in the UK.

If you want your Thai marriage certificate from the amphur translating and official for UK government use such as spouse visa application the Thai Embassey has a link I used in early 2025 to a person who gets everything translated and stamped by Thai Embassy in London. I used this for HM Immigration document as part of visa application and it cost about £80

I was looking for a similar service and yes, it's expensive now. For apostilling there is a UK government option but they may add on the services of a lawyer to initially authenticate the document which adds costs. Good luck .

So I'm not sure if this is 100% right? But my case was I got married when I were 21 still had my divorce papers. I brought them to the the British embassy in Bangkok to prove I was divorced and they gave me the certificate. Although it had to be translated, my tie wife had got someone online. I think we paid 1200 bahts to the lady who did it within twenty four hours although we were married on the 2nd of February 2024, it was the 16th. Are february when we went to what I keep calling that the town hall, government building to register the marriage   i've did pay them about 2 or 3000 for the city certificate at the embassy. Although for some reason, they did give me the money back?   Hope that helps

I believe to get your marriage certificate apostilled you need to deal directly with the office in Milton Keynes and then need to get it approved by the Thai embassy in London
