DTV Dependent

Hello,

Does anyone have recent experience applying for a DTV dependent visa in Malaysia please?

How long did it take for approval?

I've recently had a baby in Thailand and his passport has arrived so I want to travel to KL to apply for his DTV dependent visa (I am the main DTV visa holder and both my husband and daughter are already dependents).

I'm wondering how long I should expect to stay in KL?

Thank you in advance, appreciate your help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the process and timeline for applying for a DTV dependent visa in Malaysia for their baby. They are the main DTV visa holder and are seeking information on how long the application process typically takes. Comments suggest that processing times at Thai consulates in Malaysia can be long and unpredictable, with one user recommending considering consulates in Jakarta or Vietnam for potentially faster service.

Who told you to go to Malaysia for this dependent DTV? Did you get your DTV's thru that consulate?

I don't know anyone who recommends using any of the 3 consulates there (Kuala Lumpur, Penang or Kota Bharu) even for a relatively simple Dependent DTV <- which should be easier to approve because you already have the primary DTV

Processing times at those thai consulates in Malaysia are LONG and erratic (as in you can't tell what makes them take so long with some visa approvals)

I'd say Jakarta Indonesia or HCMC / Hanoi Vietnam would be better choices for you
