90 days report question: If I want to travel around Thailand on a Non-O retirement visa and would be in a different place every 90 days...will I run into issues submitting the 90 days report?

Also, let's say I provided a 6 or 12 month lease/TM30 to immigration during my 1 year extension application process, but I ended up 90 days later submitting the next 90 days report from a totally different region in Thailand (although my 6 or 12 month lease is supposed to still be active in my previous location), will there be a problem?

Thank you in advance for any helpful replies.
Answer summary
The original poster is concerned about submitting their 90-day report while traveling around Thailand on a Non-O retirement visa, particularly if they change locations frequently. Commenters suggest that it is permissible to file the 90-day report from different locations if the TM30 registration is updated to reflect the new address. There are discussions regarding the necessity of a lease and whether hotels can register TM30 when booking with a Thai driving license instead of a passport. It is noted that some immigration offices may not be strict about checking the TM30, while others may require consistency in filing addresses.

Had it both ways. Try online but give yourself time if it's rejected.

I presume people are saying use your Thai licence to book a hotel to avoid using your passport and therefore moving your registered address? I wonder if that will actually work? - the hotel will have to use some form of ID number as the rules state that they must register TM30 for all foreigners. The ID number on my Thai licence is my passport number.

yes but it doesn't state your nationality and most hotels don't know to ask. For those that do its no different to handing over your passport

Valid point.

Phil Wilson, which Thai License? Hotels will ask for your passport.

Henrik JN You misunderstand. I think the suggestion by some here is that you can avoid being registered in a hotel's district, thereby cancelling your original registration by handing them your Thai driving licence as ID (many hotels will accept that, I've done it many times). My point is that the hotel have everything they need to register you TM30 from that licence as it has your passport number on it - instead of your ID card no. as most don't have one. That though, is subject to the valid point that

Do you have a thai driving license ?

If you are continually travelling & have a Thai license - just book accommodation using that

If you give them your passport

The accommodation is supposed to register you on a TM30 with immigration

But many , especially in rural areas don’t bother

SoftPapaya9740 It is not (my passport number) on my Thai DL. It has my foreigner Thai Pink ID number, 13 digits. Never ever another TM30 will be submitted by anyone, hotels or whoever.

Until I move (purchase) another property which will never happen again.

Get set up at one place doing 90 day reports online, it doesn't matter where you travel to as you can keep doing online.

Update your filed TM30 to the province where you are and then you can file a 90 day report in that province. A lease is not needed to file a 90 day report.

, if it is a temporary stay at some hotel somewhere, but you still have your "home" the same place, you are not asked to inform a new address when doing 90 day reporting. The TM28 was used for that but not in use anymore. I have tried staying at hotels many times without changing my 90 Day reported address.

That entirely depends on what office you use. Some don’t care if you have a previous filing at your main address. Some only work on the last filed TM30.

I don’t know where the OP intends to file.

Sorry can’t say about the general policy but in Phuket you must. Each office different rules…TiT.

, ok, amazing. Something seems wrong with the Phuket Immigration. When cancelling the TM28, the Immigration Bureau explicitly said you dont have to file a new TM30 when returning home from an in-country travel.

, so this means that if you stay on Phuket with your family and you do a short travel to somewhere else in Thailand, then you need to file a new TM30 when you return home?

@Henrik ***
Sure. If there is a discrepancy in the last TM30 address and your usual one (stayed in hotel or hospital etc) it will be rejected for sure.

Do they check TM30?

Probably like many things here it’s office dependent but my guess for most would be yes.

I woukd be concerned then doing it online if travelling. Your last hotel will have filed it so you would need the relevant immigration office, I assume, unless online registration all goes to one point. Do you know if it does?

Ralph Tyson they can… if suspect something. its very simple to do it online…

No issues. You do the new report at the immigration office where your updated TM.30 is registered.
