Issues at the land border crossings with Lao in Chiang Rai province (Chiang Saen/SEZ and Chiang Khong/Huay Xai)

I deleted the last post :O as now getting new information from the border run companies

BOTH land borders in Chiang Rai province are requiring people stay out of thailand Chiang Saen says overnight and Chiang Khong says 2 nights out

They are saying it's an order from the immigration dept :/

Sorry to have posted sketchy info. This is the latest we have. If you're up in the Northwest of Thailand and need to bounce you should plan on being IN Lao a day or two.

At this time NO other land borders are are affected...

Hi everyone, for the Laos land border are there separate lines for us and our Thai spouse? Want to be prepared. Thank you.

There have been rumors circulating that the border will be locked down on the 8th and that vaccine passports will be required again.

We have made plans to obtain our student visas at the embassy in Malaysia on the 12th, and have already spent a significant amount of money on deposits, rent, furniture, and appliances, as well as prepaid for the entire school year.

With these potential changes, we are concerned about potentially losing all of these expenses. It is frustrating that decisions like this are being made without advance notice, as it makes it difficult for individuals to plan and organize their lives accordingly.

Is anyone aware of any verifiable information regarding these rumored changes to the border and vaccine passport requirements? It would be helpful to have more concrete information as we have already made significant financial and logistical preparations for our plans.

Has anyone driven from Phang gna province to Phuket in the last few days? We have a flight booked out of Phuket on May 16 and wonder how long we might expect the drive.

I'm being told on Koh Phangan that as soon as the borders open those on the visa amnesty will have 7 days to leave. In other words the amnesty isn't automatically until the 31st July if the borders open sooner. Does anyone have any more info about this?

No Tips Please. You do not have to pay for the service of the Immigration. You only pay for the Visa or Extension of Stay. Also signs at the border at Sadao: “No other fees charged in passing this border”.

He also vowed to go after agents that use fake documents for Extension of Stay, first arrest is made in Bangkok.
