Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could kindly assist me with few question below regarding the visa extension process. We are now on 90 day Non-Im Ed/O.

We are a family of four. Our two children have Non-IMG ED visas, and my husband and I have Non-IMG O visas, supporting our child who studies at an international school in Bangkok.

1. On the day of the appointment for the visa extension, can either the mother or father submit the documents on behalf of the family, or do all four family members, including both parents and children, need to be present at the immigration bureau?

2. How many days before the expiration date of our 90-day Non-IMG visas should we visit the immigration bureau to apply for an extension?

3. For our family of four, should we book four separate appointments, or is one appointment sufficient for the entire family?

4. Which branch of the immigration bureau in Bangkok should we go to for the visa extension?

5. Finally, how long does the visa extension process typically take?

Additionally, could anyone kindly provide the most recent handouts or documents for the non-ED/guardian visa?

Thank you in advance for your help ❤️

Hello! I wanted to share my family’s recent visa experience to see if anyone else has had the same experience.

A few weeks back my wife and I applied for Non-O visas through the Royal Thai Consulate in Chicago to be able to return to our volunteer work in Chiang Mai through a registered Thai foundation. We also applied for Non-O (dependent) visas for our three daughters. They are all under the age of 6.

I am happy to report that my wife and I received our visas, but our daughters, however, were given 60-day tourist visas instead. The consulate official told us that an order had come from the government to stop the issuance of Non-O visas for dependents of volunteers. But, he reassured us that we would be able to switch our daughters over to dependent visas in-country.

We are now back in Chiang Mai and preparing for our upcoming immigration visit. Has anyone else dealt with this same issue? We welcome advice and/or suggestions.

Thank you in advance!

A friend of mine lives here on retirement visa, along with his wife. They have 12 year old daughter of Russian descent at school here.

My question is, at what point does the kid need a visa and no longer covered on the parents visa??

Thanks in advance..

Hi everyone!,

If my sister (turning 13years old) plans to stay here longer, what visa can she obtain? Is there a penalty for her overstay? I read that no penalty under 14years of age, am i correct?

but will there be a problem in the future if she travels again here in Thailand?

Her visa on arrival will expire on May 18 and plans to stay here until october, and I'll bring her back to our home country by that time.

Thanks for the advice
