Hello! I've been reading past posts but I'm still unsure about the requirements/process for the 30 day extension. We (myself, husband, and baby) are US citizens and want to extend our current 60 day entry. We are in Bangkok area. Do we have to wait until a week before to apply? How do we show exit tickets if we don't know if we will be approved yet? What is the fee for the 3 of us? Do we all need passport photos even though we would all be going in person with our passports? Thanks for any help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A family of three US citizens currently in Thailand is seeking information on how to extend their 60-day entry for another 30 days in Bangkok. They want to know if there's a waiting period before applying, how to present exit tickets if their extension is uncertain, the total fee for the extension, and whether passport photos are required. According to community feedback, the extension can be applied for when there are 45 days or fewer left, the fee is 1,900 baht each, and children under 14 typically do not need an extension or can be fined for overstaying. It's also advisable to have proof of accommodation registration.
1900 baht, you probably couldn’t find a person that’s been denied a 30 day extension and you don’t need an extension for the baby they can’t be fined for any overstay until 16
If you are stying in a hotel, they will have registered you online, ask them tp print a copy of the lodgement, if they cant do that just take a busines card or similar with the hotels name and address, if you are in a private home or air bnb ask the householder to register you online and take a copy or a screen shot of the lodgement. and the exact address written in Thai, that just make it easier for them
In Bangkok you can apply for an extension when you have 45 days or less left. There is no requirement for an exit ticket for an extension. Each extension is 1900 baht per person. Children under 14 cannot be banned for overstay and cannot be fined for overstay. Many people don't bother getting children under that age an extension.
If you arrived with a visa you bought from a Thai embassy before you traveled then you go to Chaeng Watthana office. If you arrived with no visa and received a visa exempt stamp at the airport, then you go to IT Square Laksi office.
Here are general requirements for the extension, each office may vary.
i just noticed that nationals from a few countries are prohibited from getting the 30 days extension. I am an Indian national married to Thai wife. Has any Indian nation applied for the 30 days extension, and has been granted the extension..? Feedback will be appreciated, as I am flying tonight from New Delhi to Bangkok.
multiple reports of indians and Pakistanis getting the extension from visa exempt without any issues. The prohibition for extension was on tourist visas, but now they get 60 day visa exempt, it seems to be accepted. There might be some immigration offices that still don't allow it though
