Hi everyone!,

If my sister (turning 13years old) plans to stay here longer, what visa can she obtain? Is there a penalty for her overstay? I read that no penalty under 14years of age, am i correct?

but will there be a problem in the future if she travels again here in Thailand?

Her visa on arrival will expire on May 18 and plans to stay here until october, and I'll bring her back to our home country by that time.

Thanks for the advice

Following this. My embassy wouldnt accept the original birth certificate of my 9yr old son when I tried to have it authenticated for my employer to process his Non-O visa. Unfortunately, my son's date stamp in his passport is May 7, 2022 😔

there’s a number of kids who’ve lived here for years and never had a visa. They can’t be fined so the worst is a stamp in the passport saying overstay. Whether that could ever come back to haunt them in the future is unknown.

thanks for the this — I’m relieved. Will I have any trouble when my employer processes his Non-O visa?

13 years olds can’t be fined or blacklisted for overstays. Whether that could cause issues in the future is unknown. Rules / laws change and there’s no guarantee that what happened in the past may or may not be an issue.
