What does the status change from 'Pending Approval' to 'Pending for Decision' mean in the Thai visa application process?

Hi everyone, has anyone else seen the status “Pending for Decision”  instead of “Pending Approval”?

The embassy requested an additional document, which I submitted the same day. My status changed to “Pending Approval” on the first day, then changed again to “Pending for Decision.” It’s been a week, and the status hasn’t changed.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is this a normal part of the process? Thank you.

Those status messages doesn’t tell the applicant anything at all and can change both ways, so don’t take them as any sign of how the visa process is going.Sit back and relax until you get the visa or get rejected.And since it is high season for applications, it may take substantial longer than the website of the Embassy you applied at, is saying..

Yes many people see the same thing this month and it is normal. Pending Approval was the old name the system used for final check. Now the website uses new name Pending for Decision for the same step. Both mean your papers are with the officer for final choice.

For your case you did the right thing by sending extra paper same day. After that the system moves fast to Pending Approval and then to Pending for Decision. One week wait after that is common in many embassies now because of many DTV cases. If they need more they will ask again, if not you will see Approved soon.

Pending for Decision is the step before you get the visa (or be denied the visa). Thai Embassy in Bangladesh may be extra busy this time and may have always been very busy so the waiting period may well be longer than 4 weeks from the date of the status indicated "Pending for Decision".

21 October: received a request for further document, submitted it the same day, then the status was changed to “Pending Document Check” and 2 hours later to “Pending Approval”.

24 October: the status is changed to “Pending for Decision” until now 26 October.

Probably a workflow syntax change to give an impression of 'outstanding decision' rather than an 'approval remaining pending (and elevating hope)'.!
