After 2 weeks anxiety waiting

Finally got my DTV visa from Jakarta Thailand embassy.

This afternoon, I happened to meet the announcement posted by the staff. Before November 26, you can still submit materials offline for application.

Hey guys

I want to go to Laos - Vientiane embassy in 10 days +or- to apply for the DTV Visa from there.

Few questions :

Has anyone applied from Vientiane in the last days ?

How was the process for you ?

Which documents did you submit ?

Anything particular that I should know ?

Do I need to book an appointment in advance ?

If anyone did it from there I would love to send you a message if thatโ€™s possible for you

Just stressing myself to the max to make sure Iโ€™m gonna get it ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ˜…

Thank you !!

Update re DTV for South Africans in SA:

I managed to get a hold of VFS and they referred me to the embassy since they do no process the visa. I have since received a response from the Thai Embassy in Pretoria: "The official application process for the DTV visa is yet to be confirmed as it's a relatively new visa. We await the instructions from Thailand still."

I will be there in person the 2nd of August and I will keep checking in if anything changes.

*Anyone else waiting on the new visa updates for the 5yr DTV? Im 33yrs old coming from USA and with this visa it seems you can only stay 6mo a year so im now thinking to buy a house there thats a little cheaper than I was planning and now thinking I should start looking for another country with a similar easy cheap visa (since im too young for any retirement visa even tho im retired). What other countries that are NOT western that would be good to spend the other 6mo of the year and where cost of living is reasonable and 50-70k usd will get a respectable 60sqm+ condo? Im from miami so im already used to the disgusting 90* 90% humidity everyday, figuring ill spend winters in Pattaya then go to the other country for summer to be a good combo? South of france like Nice-antibes would be great and cost of living is low except purchasing a condo is miami pricing... easy visa tho.... dont want to rent anywhere, so purchasing a property is the critical part of the equation. *

*So what are you guys doing that spend half a year in thailand and the other half somewhere else thats not from the western world?*

ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS:

CHANGES TO THE VISA EXEMPT ENTRY PROGRAM

Okay boyz & squirrellz it appears that the 30 day visa exempt entry program (which was previously for 57 countries) will be expanded to more countries AND will go from 30 to 60 days starting June 1st, 2024

The UK government updated their "travel to thailand" page showing that it's 60 days

AND

This graphic was put out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is appearing on websites of the thai consulates now

We still have not seen an official posting in the Royal Gazette or any police order revision from Thai Immigrations about this visa exempt entry change

BUT

I'm getting tired of denying people who want to post about it so here is the thread.

We know what you know and that is just the same endlessly repeated news.

Guess we'll all find out together, June 1st at 12:01AM :O

Against my better judgement :P I decided to at least post this article and close commenting.

First off keep in mind Cabinet approved doesn't mean these changes take effect, BUT it's the first step in the process, so now we wait for the official announcement, publication, etc

If you do want to comment or chew the fat about these seemingly upcoming changes go on the inter-web and look for it :O There are enough groups/forums out there that are letting this news run wild. Just so we're clear, this isn't gonna be one of them :/

We (and by we I mean anyone who posted this information on a website/forum/F/B group in english) know exactly what it says in this article. We know nothing more and we know nothing less :( That means we are as in the dark as you all are as far as how it will all work :O

In fact ALL the articles are just different versions of the same original news story (obviously some outlets have better AI assisted writing :P )

I'm keeping an eye on the gov't websites because if these changes take effect June 1st like they say that gives them 3 days to publish the actual rules/changes somewhere, rather than just come out with this "fluff" news that the "thai cabinet approved blah-blah-blah".

I just didn't want the members to think that we weren't aware of it.

We have been declining posts since the different websites started posting the info. Thanx one and all who tried to post it, this is all we're putting out there.

I'm sure more news will follow.
