Hello,

This is kind of urgent so would appreciate your advice!

I am a Brit and am due to from London to Bangkok on Wednesday 14 Oct and am scheduled to fly back 16 January.

I have just gone in to check in for my Eva Air flight, but it won't let me proceed without uploading travel documents and is indicating I needing a paper travel visa to enter the country.

I was under the impression from previous research that, as a UK citizen, I could enter Thailand and apply for a visa there, which I could then apply to extend later while in the country, or leave and do a visa run.

This situation is somewhat urgent and unexpected , so I would really appreciate any advice on what to do.

If necessary, I would be happy to get an e-visa in advance but is this possible within 48 hours?

Many thanks in advance!

- UPDATE -

Thank you all so much for your helpful replies - I truly appreciate it. I was able to check in and now I will keep my fingers crossed at the airport, but your messages have been very reassuring to someone who was in a panic. Thank you again! đź’™

I’m an Irish male 67, with a non immigration O single entry (with “retired” remark) eVisa obtained from Thai London embassy (they also issue for citizens of the Republic of Ireland in recent years). Background; I have a long term Thai gf (>18 years together.. we are not married. I stay at her house in Korat).

A couple of questions relating to an upcoming trip in Nov:

1. Can I extend this visa at an internal immigration centre or do a border run with ease and return for 30 days as a tourist (no visa needed?) just prior to the evisa expiring?

2. Following that extension or return in Point 1, I need to go to Australia for a few weeks.

3. What are my options to return to Thailand again for another ca. 55-60 days before returning home to Ireland next April/May? E.g. Apply for another 90 days eVisa whilst in Australia (as if I was applying online from Ireland) OR enter again as a tourist (no visa needed?) for 30 days and extend it internally for another 30 days.

I guess I’m wondering are there any limits to the number of tourist entries and / or extensions one can get per entry in a single calendar year that could trip me up?

I would effectively be seeking to stay ~90 days, then ~ 30 days, and then on return from Australia another ~60 days before finally returning home to Ireland.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

I am confused about when to file a TM30. I have a mulri-entry Non-O retirement visa. I have filed my first 90-day report.

1. I went to Bangkok for an overnight in a hotel. Does the hotel file a TM30? Do I need to file a TM30 when I return home to Pattaya?

2. I go to Singapore for a week. When I return, my 90-day reporting period is reset, and I must file a TM30?

Thanks for your serious, helpful response!

I am going back to Immigration on later this month to get my 1 year extension of stay.

So I am in the "Under Consideration" stage of it all.

But before this I have been requested to be a travel-buddy for someone who has never flown before before I get my stamp.

It would be a 1-2 day thing and I would be back in good time before I am supposed to go to Immigration to get my finalized stamp.

Would this be a problem?

Is it possible to change the DTV:visa from

"Remote Worker" to Soft Power or Digital Nomad once accepted?

- Starting with "Remote Worker" and then if possible to change to "Soft Power" activity

Or is it all the same after accepted DTV:visa?

- And is there a possibility of getting a work permit to Thailand with the DTV? (Soft power festival work?)

Good day, want to apply for the DTV from South Africa... what fees will be payable? Apart from the proof of 500k baht in bank account, please

And then, can all be done via e-visa website?
