TLDR : Answer Summary
Several users shared their experiences regarding changing a retirement visa to a marriage visa in Thailand. It was noted that while you cannot directly change a visa, you may be able to alter the reason for your extension of stay when it's due for renewal. However, there are conditions regarding income that may vary by immigration office, and some users suggested that it might be easier to retain the retirement visa if funds are available.

You can't change a visa but if you are on an extension of stay you can change the reason for the extension at the next renewal. Whether or not your immigration office accepts 12 months of international transfers is something you will need to ask them, increasing numbers do not. You also need to honour the terms of your current extension based on being over 50

i have changed from retirement to marriage visa 4 years ago. No Hassle. One thing that is different is when you have applied it takes approx one month to get your stamp in your passport. Every year you apply for the renewal visa it takes one month for the stamp.
