We left Thailand for a vacation in Turkey. The lineups at BKK were very long and I was left with no time to obtain a reentry permit. Back now on a 60 day visa. Do I use form TM9 to reapply for a retirement visa? I have had a visa and extension of stays for over 10 years. I have had over 800,000 baht in my Thai bank account forever. Any issues identified or help is appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user shares that after returning from vacation in Turkey, they are back in Thailand on a 60-day visa and need to reapply for a retirement visa. They inquire about using form TM9 for this process and mention having maintained over 800,000 baht in their bank account for a long time. Comments suggest that the user must apply for a 90-day Non-O visa at immigration, noting the importance of bringing proof of funds and that they might need to address requirements about the source of the money.

you need to do the "change of visa type" on Immigration. "Change" from a visa-exempt enry to an initial 90-days Non-Imm-O Retirement Visa. Application fee is 2000.- Baht. Proof of a minimum of 800,000 THB is needed. ATTENTION: the original police order says that you must prove that the money came from abroad. In your case you might have to circumvene this, as you said the money already is in your Thai bank account. Here are the requirements for the change, click onto number 9 which is your case

Someone like you better buy a multiple entry permit right when you extend every year, so you never have to worry about that.

In the future, you can apply for the reentry permit anytime. Some people buy one at immigration when they get their yearly extension, the reentry permit is good for the length of your extension.

As for you, you'll need to start the processes over again, apply for a 90 day Non-O at immigration.

thank you. I guess I am trying to find out everything that is required for a 90 day Non O.

it's all the same as your last extension, but you are starting over, and have the bulk amount in the bank instead of monthly payments, so it is the same, with the same documents. This time though you have to do it all again when you apply for the one year extension, which requires all new updated documents again as soon as the immigration office you use will let you apply for the extension, as your bank money is already seasoned.

It's basically the same things required for your extension but the funds do not need to be seasoned (unless you apply at Jomtien) and there is no financial check over the past year

Thank you everyone for your help. I assume I use the TM9 versus the TN7 used for an exte.nsion of stay. We live 40km from Immigration so wanted to arrive with .everything required.
