HOPE INVITATION LETTER IS NOT NEEDED FOR TOURIST VISA

The retirement visa requirements are confusing me. You have to open a Thai bank account and maintain a minimum balance  to apply for the retirement visa, but in order to open the account, you have to show that you already have a long-term visa…. which you can’t get until you get the bank account ? Can someone please straighten me out? 

I'm looking into applying for the DTV as a sole proprietor. For those of you that have done this:

What embassy did you go through?

What documents were required?

How long did it take to be approved?

I heard Bangkok bank is freezing foreign accounts . Is there any problem to us who are holding Retirement Visa?

Hello, I’m in Thailand on a tourist visa and I wish to apply for a DTV. Do I must return back to my home country to be able to apply ? Can I apply whist I’m in Thailand ?

My wife’s DTV visa is taking almost a month now and I’m thinking of just going to Bangkok and getting a non immigrant O visa. She can catch up later when the visa is issued. She had to travel to the U.S. every year. What is the easiest and cheapest process? Should I just go to the immigration office with all my documents? I currently have health insurance until August so I’ll need a Thai policy. The process is confusing. Thanks in advance for sound advice
