Hello, just received a text from my Thai bank requesting urgent information regarding CRS. I am not from the US and Ipay all my taxes in my home country. Do I need to do anything as it requests I contact them. Thanks

Edit Update: Thanks for all the replies. Just been to my bank and it was a genuine text I received. I had to take in my passport, bank book, tax number in my overseas country and proof of Thailand address. They filled in the forms which took 10 minutes in all. Good luck if you need to do this.

I will be moving to Thailand in August. I will be entering on a Non O Immigrant Visa. I intend on filing for a Marriage Visa with 30 days left on my entrance visa.

Looking for advice on a good Thai bank that will allow me to open an account in order to meet the Marriage Visa requirements. I will be living in the Pathum Thani area.

Thanks!

My 1st year (plus 90 days,) retirement visa expires this April 29.

I’m now looking at my options. I over-paid a visa agent the first go round. (70k baht)

I have the funds, (over 800k in bank for the year, <actually more.>)

But why is it better to pay and renew retirement visa now if I can leave country upon return & get automatic 60 days plus another 30 extra days. paying only the 1,900 for extension? So, why not do that a few times, not pay for renewing retirement visa right away?

Jut trying to figure out best option. TIA

Medical vs travel insurance question for maximum 5 month stay.

I have just secured a 5 year DTV and arrive in Thailand next week. I plan on staying around 4-5 months before heading back to Europe for 2-4 weeks. Then back to Thailand and repeat this process.

Question, can I get travel insurance for the trip of 5 months, then do this again before I return for another 5 months or so stay, or do I need to purchase 12 months medical insurance.

I’m from the UK.

Thanks

Hello everyone, this is my first time in thailand and my tourist visa ends in 1 week (60+30) so I need to do border bounce.

Option 1 is to take a morning flight from bangkok to phnom penh and return same day evening.

Option 2 is to pay for agency, take a minivan and a guide from Bangkok to Chantaburi Province and return the same day.

I prefer take the flight but I'm not sure if the border officer will approve my entry back in thailand when I'm on my own. Do you think that would be a problem?

Any other suggestions? Thank you all

Visa approved - got the email at midnight.

Approval time - 2 days lol

UK embassy

Soft power - tiger eye. I used ilovepdf to merge the files into 1 pdf.

3 months bank statement

2 hours after i paid they asked for proof of flights and a better passport photo. I booked a fight and sent the pdf. I sent a selfie against a white wall and gf used an app to make the background white.

When i started my application I must have already had a try in Jan because there was a pending application from the 28th of Jan. Perhaps they approved my application faster as they might have thought in was waiting almost 1 month.

Thanks for all your help x

See you in Siam!

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share my experience applying for the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Jakarta. I submitted my application on Monday morning, February 24th, and it first showed “pending checking documents.” By Wednesday morning, February 27th, the status changed to “pending approval,” and later that evening, it was approved.

I applied under the Soft Power (Muay Thai) category with Wildcat Muay Thai, and Meaw Boonpradub was super helpful in getting all the necessary documents together quickly (definitely recommend).

Documents I Submitted:

• Financial Proof – A 6-month bank statement from a foreign bank in USD. I had the required amount sitting in my account for the past six months, but I’ve heard that this isn’t always mandatory. Along with that, I also included:

• A screenshot of my account balance from my banking app.

• A screenshot of the exchange rate for that day.

• All three were combined into a single PDF file.

• Muay Thai Documents – Provided by Wildcat Muay Thai.

• Proof of Location – A picture of the Indonesian Visa Stamp in my passport.

• Scanned Passport

• Visa Photo

For accommodation in Thailand, I just listed where I was staying, but they didn’t ask for any proof.

Thanks everyone for all the information regarding the process!

P.S. If you’re planning to apply in Jakarta, you don’t actually have to be there—you just need to be somewhere in Indonesia. I didn’t realize this beforehand, and let’s just say Jakarta is not for beginners !
