TLDR : Answer Summary
Upon entering Thailand, your Non-O visa will begin its validity for 90 days. Generally, an onward ticket is not required, but airline policies may vary; some may request flight information. It is advisable to have all visa documents ready when traveling and be aware that Non-O visas are currently issued as single entry only, with options to extend if requirements are met.

yes if you meet the requirements. And you can purchase a re-entry permit if you want to leave Thailand. But that doesn't make anything multiple entry, it's just so your extension isn't cancelled when you leave.

For me it was the airline I traveled on that asked for return flight info. I had to pull out the e-visa and all documents to show the 90 day visa and it took several people looking at it before they gave the ok. Going through suvarnabhumi immigration was no problem with the visa doc and no return booked.

Fly direct. Option is to not book and they may allow you in cause of visa.
Option 2 is book a fake ticket on one of those sites for like $12usd and it will create a airline ticket.
Option 3 book a cheap ticket to Malaysia for around $40-70usd.
Agree with that. The issue is that emigration starts with a 90 day visa (non-O) and some airlines (or their employees) think that is a short term visa.
Unfortunately people don’t know everything. That doesn’t only apply to people from Thai governmental organizations but also people from everywhere else.
