TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around the requirements for applying for a DTV visa from the Philippines, particularly the duration of the 'soft power' class needed for successful application. It is suggested that the class should last at least 6 months to enhance chances of acceptance. Additionally, it's noted that some embassies may not issue the visa if the class duration does not meet specific criteria, and the visa allows for multiple entries over a 5-year period, with each stay lasting up to 180 days.

From what I've read, the soft power activity should last at least 6 months for best hope of being accepted as legitimate.

It's a 5 year visa that lets you in for 180 days at a time, so you do the math. Each embassy is different, and there are some embassies that won't even issue it if you have a 6 month class because it's a 5 year visa.
