TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster seeks advice on starting the visa process in Thailand and finding a reliable agent. Commenters encourage providing more details such as nationality and visa type, while some suggest doing the process independently, highlighting it's straightforward at times. Recommendations for agencies like Siam Legal and the Thai Visa Centre are mentioned, alongside discussions about the challenges of opening bank accounts in Thailand and the pros and cons of hiring an agent versus handling the process personally.

You're on the right path to be thinking about using an agent. I can make money but I cannot make time, so the agent route is very smart in the convenience and time-saving.

very easy. But not exactly smart financially. And it’s nice if you don’t mind going to the bank, opening account, standing in line, gathering documents and then driving to immigration to do the same thing. But if bored with your life, it’s probably a fun couple of days every year

I'm retired so I'm entitled to be lazy. And it's very smart to outsource tasks.

It’s 'your’ obligations. Apparently you missed the English and financial planning portion of school.

If you are at least semi-intelligent and well funded in retirement, you have people to assist you for that here. Many good people making a living as visa agents.

No worries, not everyone is smart with money. Maybe bureaucratic paperwork and standing in line were part of your retirement plan. Keep doing your best.

A little slim on information, you might want to state your passport nation, your age, the purpose of your visit and what type of visa you're considering.

The best agent is yourself and it's pretty straightforward to do. The hardest part is getting a bank account
