My wife’s DTV visa is taking almost a month now and I’m thinking of just going to Bangkok and getting a non immigrant O visa. She can catch up later when the visa is issued. She had to travel to the U.S. every year. What is the easiest and cheapest process? Should I just go to the immigration office with all my documents? I currently have health insurance until August so I’ll need a Thai policy. The process is confusing. Thanks in advance for sound advice

You'll apply for a non-O based on what? And do you already have a Thai bank account? If you enter Thailand without a long-term visa, you will not be able to open a bank account that you will need in order to apply for the visa.

then you're going to have to pay an agent to open the bank account and possibly to get the visa if you don't have enough time for everything

just apply for the non-o in your home country through the evisa system and save yourself a lot of hassle.

the people to ask are the bank you're going to use. They will tell you their requirements. You may have to visit several but most will require a long term visa, not a tourist visa entry. It's best applied for prior to arriving.

should have got it before you left home then don't require money in Thailand bank. Then you arrive on non O visa open bank account transfer money then apply for the year extension. You already there you need account and money in bank to hard on tourist visa nowdays.
