Dtv soft power.

Has anyone gotten their dtv approved for 1 course but then decided to change to another one? I initially signed up for muay thai 9 months but hurt my self and the doctor advised to stop for at least 6 months and then review. I'm thinking of changing over to an approved cooking class instead, but not sure if that's allowed

Hey everyone, hope you're all doing well 🙏

Quick question, I am based in Sathon, Bangkok and need to do my 90-day report. I know the main Immigration Office is at Chaeng Watthana rd, but I’m wondering if there’s anywhere closer for us in central Bangkok?

Appreciate any tips – cheers!

I came to extend my DTV visa to another 180 days (ko samui). Because of the high season and because i have a dog (super hard to find accommodation with a dog), i moved a lot and only recently found a more permanent home. Anyway, apparently, one of the ridiculous requirements for extending, is that you need to be 3 months at the same home when you are applying... Considering this visa was designed for digital NOMADS, this is an incredibly stupid rule. I have all requirements for the extension beside that stupid thing, I'm in samui so the flight is relatively long and expensive, I would prefer to save the time, energy and money that will be spent on it without any reason whatsoever, but whatever. Heads up to all nomads on dtv out there that move a lot.

I went to 3 banks and asked because I am thinking of switching from Retirement to DTV. Bangkok, K and TSB. Here is what I was told.

1. You can't get a new bank account on a tourist Visa, unless you have property here (and/or a Pink Card), or are married to a Thai

2. Any Bank accounts already open, will not be closed just because you change to a tourist Visa, (Your history of time is evidence you are not a new account for illegal activities)

3. No effort is being made to investigate and close any accounts that do not look suspicious (many multi millions of baht transactions, new accounts not being used etc)

Hope that helps

Caveats:

1) If you are Russian or Chinese then you will face more issues as your countrymen are the majority of the high publicly for fraud that started all this.

2) If you got a Bank account on a tourist Visa before 6 months ago .. Things have changed your experience has no relationship to today situation

If anyone is going for an extension and have completed a TDAC you need it printed out and signed for immigration.

It is not on the list of requirements for O, B etc etc as it is all new. I am at immigration office and I and others have been sent to get printed copies.

EDIT: This was Chiang Mai Immigration Office. - the First 2 document checks did not pick up on it only when the extensions was being updated in the system.

Many of us are struggling of opening or maintaining a thai bank account. I found one option suitable for us in the mean time if we dont want to pay 15000 to agent to open bank account : [members only]

Foreigners can open true money wallet with the limit amounf of 50000 Baht per month and 30000 baht of transaction per day

For me this option can help with our daily transactions .

Update after getting my DTV in Jakarta (soft power):

After getting the visa I spent a few days off in a third country. Entered Thailand yesterday through Suvarnarbhumi airport. I gave a small bow to the immigration officer, greeted him in Thai (one of the six or seven things I can do with Thai language), gave him my passport and the A6-size copy of my printed DTV visa (plastified) by using my two hands. All the above at once, as if I was the new ambassador presenting my credentials. The officer looked at my plastified copy of the visa, said "wow" (not sure if in admiration, or as a soft form of irony) , and after searching for the right set of stamps gave me my well deserved 180 days. Well, not sure if well deserved, but I paid quite a bit for it, including logistics. Anyway, that's it. 🤗

Question for those in the know. I’m trying to get some health insurance. Problem is I have diabetes, so no one will touch me here, even with a waiver.

The question is should I just omit the fact that I have diabetes ? With my medication it is kept in normal limits

Any opinions , im 58 btw
