Hey guys, bit confused about the 500k THB thing.

The rules say you need to have it in your bank account (crypto not allowed), but I’ve heard some people had to show proof of it again when (re-)entering Thailand.

There’s nothing I can find that says you need to keep that money in your bank account at all times. Honestly, I’d rather invest it than let it just sit there.

Has anyone ever been denied re-entry because they invested that money into stocks or crypto after getting their DTV approved?

Anyone here got personal experience with this?

Hello, I will be traveling to Bangkok next month on business. So I will enter the country with my work visa. However, I would like to spend two weeks' vacation there afterwards. Can anyone tell me what I should indicate when entering the country? I am German .

Hi, my wife and I are planning to move to Chiang Mai in January 2026. I am 52 and am going to apply for Non OA visa here in the UK. My wife however is 45 (she is also a UK citizen) and doesn’t qualify for a retirement visa. Am I right in thinking she would apply for a non O visa as a dependant here in the UK, the travel with me to Thailand and apply for an extension of the O at immigration in Thailand during her 90 day stay. Am I missing something obvious? We have all the financial means so that’s not an issue. Any advice would be welcome.

Why did I get interrogated for one border run ?

They took me to a separate section and asked me all kinds of questions then told me i am staying here too long. I only stayed 2 months at chiang mai and i took a flight to luang prabang for a short trip. They said i need a visa next time. That means no more travel visas? How do you guys do multiple border runs without troubles? I wish i had a DTV visa

FOR MY FIRST 90 DAY Visa Extension Check-in, do I have to go to Immigration exactly on the 90th day? Or are there a window of days grace to check-in around the 90th day?

Question; I plan on applying for a retirement visa using an agent blah blah blah.... I have always worked with non profits in my life usually helping to feed the hungry because I am a retired chef. What special paperwork do I need to be able to simply volunteer my time in Thailand?

Quick question - been preparing for DTV APPLICATION through research and having completed 7 trips to Thailand since 2021. In your educated opinions, instead of me visiting once or twice per year on (now 60 day visa free entry) to spend time in The Kingdom and with my Thai GF of 4 years, does anyone agree that getting the DTV would make more sense for me? I am fully qualified with more than 5 years of online work easily proven (i am a copywriter) and the necessary funds as well. Thanks in advance for some sensible advice.
