TLDR : Answer Summary
The current process for applying for a Non-Immigrant B visa is entirely through e-visa applications, as confirmed by comments stating that all embassies have transitioned to e-visa only.

All embassies are e-visa only.

Thanks Stuart. My Thai school told me to go to a neighbouring country, walk in and it would be done in 2 days but it seems like that changed last year right?

Do you have any idea of the average processing time for UK nationals? I already hold a non-immigrant B but the school prefer I exit and get a new one instead of transferring it...

I use CW for retirement extensions, but I make sure I have an appointment. That way in and out in an hour.

i'm changing jobs and in theory I should be able to transfer it to my new school but the general consensus seems to be the admin hassle isn't worth it so I should just start from scratch. The school definitely don't seem to want to do that.

The school seems to think it just a case of go to a neighbouring country ( I proposed Malaysia KL) walk in, wait 2 days pick it up then come home. But I don't think it's that simple any more.

What would be great to know is how much time I need away from the school. Let's say for the embassy in KL

Processing times are different for each embassy. Specify which one you’ll use and someone may be able to advise.

normally the paperwork is targeted at a specific consulate so it depends where your employer tells you to go
