Mine literally laughed at first, did the TB skin test, gave me a vax that wasn't covered (as it's deemed unnecessary) and after a couple of days did sign off.

yep, never fed that monster! If you need, just go to a clinic. The medical certificate must state that the applicant does not have leprosy, tuberculosis, drug addiction, elephantiasis, or syphilis in its tertiary stage. Any doctor is going to bust a nut laughing at these requirements. Laugh with them and just get it done.

I had no problem getting my doctor to sign it. It’s just to say you don’t have a few diseases that hardly anyone gets. It’s a joke.

I did a police check got my medical certificate which were requirements for my Thai OA visa not once was I asked to produce them on entry I now have my retirement visa.

that's because they're not required for entry. They're required for the visa application. The only thing required for entry is the insurance.Reply to

Google ‘Dr Donna Robinson’ they should be able to do it remotely. As others said get a Non O it’s less hassle and you can open a bank account with little trouble

Just find a teledoc or something. Most doctors know it's a joke and will sign it. Your doctor is being unreasonable.

Why? And have trouble getting a cooperative bank in Thailand. I think I'll do this route first. I can always fall back to the non O option.Max *************

Do as he said,go for the Non-O, not the O-A. The ONLY benefit with the O-A is the possibility to use the required amount of money for the first year in a bank back home. All the rest sucks big time. Believe me.Bob **********

I’ve done it just get the non-o no hassle no police report,medical and no worthless insurance and you’ll be able to open an account on a non-oJohn **************

true but the Non OA has a ton more hoops and hurdles to get through and cost. The Health insurance they ask for is worthless in Thailand. I would personally do the non o and use an agent to open the bank account if needed.Regardless, have fun and enjoy 😊

really want to promote agents right now?Pretty clear immigration is cracking down.
Getting an OA was not hard, insurance is less than the interest lost being forced to keep money in a Thai bank which isn't so easy to get back out.
