My mom came into Thailand on a tourist visa. Is it possible to extend her visa at the Samut Prakan immigration? She’s staying in Samut Prakan.

Hi all, I am returning to Thailand on the 24th of September, 2024 and have a visa extended on the 9th of December 2024. Today, when I went to do my 90-day report, I was fined 2,000 baht, and the officer said that the 90-day report date counts from the date I returned to Thailand, not from the date I renewed my visa. Is this a fact? I clearly remember the rule is to count from the date of renewing the visa. The same lady fined me twice for the same reason.

I'm thinking of deregistering in the Netherlands. However I also want to apply for the DTV. Would deregistering from NL interfere with the application of my DTV?

So I read in a few posts that we have to submit the flight number of a booked flight when applying for DTV.

Is this correct?

It seems strange to book a flight before you have an approved visa.

In our case, my husband is applying for DTV and when his is approved, myself & 3 kids will then apply with him as our sponsor.

Why would we want to book 5 tickets if we don’t know the visa will be approved?

How have other families done this?

Any USA citizen successfully open a TTB bank account. They are telling me that as an American I need a Thai salary (no other nationalities are subject to this requirement). If yes, please advise on branch, etc

Hi, I'm looking for some advice.

I'm afraid we have messed up with our kids visas. They are 5 and 7 and in international school.

We are on a DTV and tried to get them as dependants but as we are already in Thailand, that's not possible.

We are now trying to get their educational visas sorted for them, but they are in overstay.

And not just any overstay, an overstay of +180 days.

We have royally messed up here, please don't judge, it's been a difficult year.

My question is, can we take them out of Thailand for a holiday, and take them back to Thailand for a visa exempt, and then while in Thailand, have the exempt converted to educational?

Or do we risk the kids not being allowed back in?

Again, both my husband and I have our visas, it's just our 5 and 7 year old.

Thank you for any advice on how best to fix 🙏

Request for advice: My wife (50+) and I (49, just turned) are US citizens and want to come to Thailand (Hua Hin) and stay for extended medical treatment and retirement after. I am confused about the best visa choice out of our consulate (Los Angeles, USA) and asking for advice and suggestions.

The Non-Immigrant Type “O” Medical Treatment visa for me with her a dependent seems like it would work well, but then I had another idea…

Instead of dealing with medical appointment letters, can my wife apply for a Non-O Retirement visa and have me as a dependent? One extension gets me to 50, opening up other possibilities (extend again, do two Non-O Retirement visas, other visa options like LTR, etc).

We have no issue with her showing an 800k baht bank balance here, and will transfer that to a Thai bank and then follow up with 65k baht into it each month to eliminate having to maintain a balance later.

My questions:

Is this a good plan, or would you recommend a different route?

The dependent visa is technically the “Non-Immigrant Visa Type O, To stay with non-Thai family residing in Thailand (more than 60 days)”, right?

Do we apply for the dependent visa right after the retirement visa, or do we have to wait for the retirement visa to be approved then apply for the dependent one?

Thanks to this entire group, learned a lot searching and reading here and really appreciate the help!

Hello everyone!

When issuing a visa do they look at the presence of multiple stamps and previous stays in the Thai?

Over the past year there are 3 stamps for 60 days each extended by border in Satun
