Is it normal that the Thai SETV system only shows the first page of PDFs?

Hey guys,

I’m applying for the Thai tourist visa (SETV) online and I’m really confused about the document upload system.

I’m doing everything from my phone (no computer available), and here’s what happened:

• I uploaded my round-trip flight ticket in one single PDF (page 1 = departure, page 2 = return).

• I also uploaded my bank statement: page 1 with the balance, then the following pages with my transactions for the last 3 months.

• But then I got an email saying that my return flight was “missing” and also that my 3-month transactions were “missing.”

The problem is that when I hit the preview button in their portal, it only shows me the first page of the PDF. I assumed the agent could download and see the whole PDF on their side… but it looks like they only check the first page??

Now I’m stuck because:

• How the hell am I supposed to put a full bank statement (3 months of transactions) into one single page? That’s literally impossible unless I photoshop a collage.

• I already uploaded complete documents, but they still asked me again as if I didn’t.

Is this normal? Can the officers actually download and see the full PDF, or do they really only check page 1? Anyone else had the same issue doing the application from mobile?

Hey everyone,

Quick question: in the case where I’ve done a bank account switch within the last 3 months, is it acceptable to provide bank statements from both banks in order to justify the €15,000 available on my account ?

Has anyone ever been in this situation ?

Thanks in advance for your feedback 🙏

I believe I am eligible to apply for either remote work or soft power (medical) categories. I have a job that allows me to work remotely and I am also have upcoming appointments at a hospital in Bangkok and will continue to have appointments every few months for the foreseeable future. I may retire within a year or two. Would I be better off applying under the soft power (medical) category? Does it really matter? Will the immigration officer even see any of the details? My thinking is that in two or three years if I'm retired it would be easier to show an upcoming medical appointment rather than explain that I previously worked remotely. At the same time, since my medical appointments are every 3-4 months, an immigration officer may question why I need to spend so much time in Thailand rather than just coming a week before my appointment. With remote work, I could just tell them that I'm working remotely.

Just got my approval in Hanoi (Singaporean passport).

Took 5 working days. Submitted on 13 Aug, approved on 20 Aug.

Here’s the list:

-Passport bio page

-Passport photo

Proof of Location:

-Flight booking

-Image of arrival stamp

-Boarding pass

- Accommodation booking (1 week)

Proof of Employment:

-My own cover letter (stating I work remotely, won’t do any business in Thailand, and will adhere to all the Thai rules and laws.

*This part is VERY important to emphasise.

-Company cover letter (same points as above and signed by my HR on the company letterhead)

-Employment contract

-Company Business Registration (ACRA)

Proof of Finance:

-3 months’ bank statements (highlighted my name, account number, month of statement, and final balance with the exchange rate from SGD to THB to make it easier for them to check.)

-1-year lease in Thailand (I added here since other files in the other sections were getting pass the 3MB)

In my cover letter, I had a list of all the documents I was going to include to make things clearer. And added short explanations in each PDF to highlight details and make it easy for the officers to understand.

Assume they’ve never seen your country’s documents before so having helpful information to guide them through what everything is will make it easier for them to find what they're looking for.

Also...

When filling in “departure date” from the country you’re applying in, I put about a week later, this might speed things up since they see that you're leaving by this date.

And you don’t actually need to buy the ticket out.

I entered Hanoi on a one-way ticket, no problem at Hanoi airport. Once approved, I bought a ticket out the very next day.

Hope this helps.

Good luck to everyone applying.

Any questions, drop them below.
