I've lived and worked in Thailand for 15 years on a business visa with work permit (sorry if that's not exactly what its called). I plan to retire next year and move to a Non-O based on being over 55.

I read that the banked 800k needs to be transferred from overseas... but all my savings has come from my working in Thailand?

Thoughts?

My question : I know I can carry $ 9999.99 cash from Canada to Thailand without declaring. Can my 15 year old son carry the same amount of cash. ? Or is there an age restriction?

Any clarity would be appreciated.

I have the initial 90 day non-immigrant visa and work permit, now it is being extended to a 1 year.

From what I can see the multiple wntry 1 year allows for me to leave and return to Thailand whenever, however I must leave every 3 months?

And the single entry I do not have to leave every 3 months, and if I leave the country I have to obtain a re-entry permit before hand?

I am an American who has applied for the 90-day Non-O visa with the intention of applying for Retirement visa when in Thailand.

The morning of February 14th, I submitted my application through the consulate in Chicago. I still see the submission in the "Processing Pending Document Check (1)" state. My flight is booked for March 26th and I am concerned about not having the visa in time.

I believe the website says usual processing time is 10 days. Are my expectations unrealistic? What wait time should I expect through the Chicago consulate?

Second 90 day visa? At the end of our visa we plan to go back to Thailand and reapply for a second 30 or 90 day visa. Is this permitted?

To my fellow Americans that married their Thai wives in Thailand. I have to ask this dumb question. Have you ever submitted the following visas below? What is the difference between the two?

- Immigrant visa for a Spouse of a U.S. Citizen

- Nonimmigrant visa for spouse (K-3)

Long term plan is to retire in Thailand. For now, outside her visa to states which I believe it allows 6 months stay at a time. I wanted something more concrete if I decide to go back and work there.

It says the visa has to be issued here in Thailand since we got married here. I'm open for feedback or suggestions.

Hi I thought I could get a 3 month visa and apply for my year ao visa once inside the country. I can't see how to get the 3 month visa though. Does it still exist or did it all change with the e-visa situation
