I would if I was younger. Next year I will be 50. So the plan is to apply for education visa when I get back. I consider all these processes pricey and very difficult. My money is better spend inside Thailand. Also I have read about people wanting to cancel their DTV, but can't do that.

Let me know if it's possible to get a good visa for Thailand doing stock market investments. For now I am spending time outside Thailand. I think Thailand is clearly superior country with lots of very nice people. But also no government should decide how I invest my money. I sincerely hope stock market investments will soon qualify for long time visas for Thailand.

Calling your local immigration office. Or getting somebody to call for you. Is an other option of gaining information.

They use an old exchange rate from last year. You need close to 600k usd. Is the current rate 2%? Must be valid for at least 5 additional years more. Is the Thai stock market currently on a 14 year low?

My application is still pending. From the agent I was requested lots of additional KYC like documents. I was told I needed to buy government bonds instead of Thai stocks. Good luck. Look forward hearing more about how it develops.

It looks like a "ผ.60 visa".

"ผ" is the interesting part.

Did you used to have a 1 year visa?

If I am not mistaken. You can apply back for that with your ผ.60 stamp.

If yes. You better hurry. You will likely be getting 90 days visa before 1 year visa. You need to do lots of paperwork. You may need to travel.

Good luck!

Would it be allowed to have these 800k in assets such as equities in the Thai stock market? (Using a Thai bank of course)

No overstay is better. Doing so would likely be a huge offense in your home country.
