I started the process of reaching out to attorneys to obtain the wealthy pensioner LTR Visa, in terms of getting rates and doing my due diligence. The going rate seems to be Pretty expensive, $1,500 for primary and $750 per dependent.
I was in discussion with this one attorney who I believed was a good fit. However, I am bit of an anxious person, upon reaching out he would either ask for a clearer copy of my passport, additional income or request a few more days to respond. As such, I decided to complete the application myself. I have to say it was much easier than I thought. Fingers crossed. Hoping to move on to the next stage.
This may seem like a stupid question, but dont come for me!..I'm trying to crunch the numbers to qualify for the LTR visa. It seems like the best deal for my family of 4. My husband is retiring this year. He is ex military and we have rental properties. I think we are about $10,000 per year shy of the passive income requirement, but maybe not? For passive income, does the Thai government go by how much gets deposited each month or by how much you have left over after the mortgages are paid? Ex: $2000/mo rent for a property with a $1000 mortgage. Are they looking at that as $2000 or $1000 in passive income?
A couple LTR questions for those of you who obtained one. How long were you in “Final Reviewing” status before you were approved or rejected? Additionally, once you were in Final Reviewing, did they ask for any additional documents from that point forward? Thank you!
If you are looking to get the Thai elite visa what is the best way to go about it? Should you go through a certain firm and are there any things you need to be aware of eg extra fees scams etc?
Anyone had any luck with the BOI Long Term Resident Visa process for “wealthy” pensioner? Specifically anyone with Veteran’s Compensation and FERS retirement?
I met with Visa Agent in Bkk today, for retiring from USA. We reviewed Retirement Visa, Elite Gold, and then they shared with me LTR. LTR seemed too good to be true? Any advice or warnings on LTR would be much appreciated. Thanks!
