Based on the requirement of a bank savings balance of at least 500,000THB (or equivalent) from the last two months' statements, does anyone know the exact exchange rate for this amount in SGD?

My consolidated bank statements from the past two months show only a total of 19,100SGD. At today's exchange rate, it would amount to only 497000THB. I have additional savings in another account that would bring the total to 500,000THB. However, if I transfer the balance internally within this week, it won't reflect on my statements until the end of the month. Since I plan to submit my DTV Workcation Visa application within this week, would the 19,100 SGD from the past two months' statement be acceptable? Can anyone advise, thank you!

Hello all 👋

I was wondering if someone can help me in an issue I am having please.

When applying online in Ho Chi Minh for a DTV, as a digital nomad who works at a company (employee):

Regarding the Financial evidence section (amount of no less than 500,000 THB, etc.) - can I provide the investments (tradable securities) as the 500,000 THB? Or does it have to be my Current Accounts that have this amount?

Or in other words, why is asked in this section exactly? As I know I have to provide 6 months of my bank transactions as well.

Any advice would help.

Thanks a lot in advance 🙏🤗

Question for anyone who applied in HCMC (online), how many business days did it take? Did you travel to Vietnam on a one way and but a ticket back once you were approved?

I’m in TH now and want to apply in Vietnam in January. Looking at flights but not sure whether to book a one-way or return and if return, for how long.

TIA 🙏🏼🙏🏼

We're now seeing a lot of people with DTV cannot open bank accounts. But many people don't know what's happening with thai banks.

Thailand banking has already joined CRS in 2023. CRS means common reporting system. That means banks here will need to report individuals to other countries banks and tax authorities. It's a thing which HNWIs don't like because of their privacy concerns.

A Thai elite visa is also a kind of glorified tourist visa. DTV visa is also a tourist visa (banks here always say that). However, our DTV holders cannot open. But from the banks side, they have to do a lot of paperwork. That's why they don't like us, dtv holders.

Although they already joined the CRS, they didn't clean up the mess first which is agents. Yes tourists can still open any bank accounts with the help of agents. So, think about yourself, money laundering cases etc. i won't explain further here.

Thank you very much to the people in this group who helped us to get our DTV approved🥳🥳 We got it in Jakarta and if there is anyone who is planning to go there before they switch to evisa later this month and has questions, let me know and I will try to respond. Generally, it is very smooth and the people there are very nice so I would definitely recommend it if you are in the area.
