Can I use investments as financial evidence for a Thai DTV visa application instead of cash in my current account?

Hello all 👋

I was wondering if someone can help me in an issue I am having please.

When applying online in Ho Chi Minh for a DTV, as a digital nomad who works at a company (employee):

Regarding the Financial evidence section (amount of no less than 500,000 THB, etc.) - can I provide the investments (tradable securities) as the 500,000 THB? Or does it have to be my Current Accounts that have this amount?

Or in other words, why is asked in this section exactly? As I know I have to provide 6 months of my bank transactions as well.

Any advice would help.

Thanks a lot in advance 🙏🤗

TLDR : Answer Summary
The financial evidence for the Thai DTV visa application must be demonstrated through readily accessible cash in a bank account, specifically requiring at least 500,000 THB. Investments or tradable securities are not considered acceptable as proof. Applicants are also required to submit six months of bank statements to exhibit liquid cash availability.

I’ve just applied at that embassy and they asked me for six months of bank statements. I am assuming that is to demonstrate I had liquid cash at all times.

The 500K THB needs to be in a bank account, an instantly accessible account. It is asked for to show you can support yourself independently and have readily available cash to do so.

Thank you 🙏 I understand. So investments (tradable securities) will not do, correct? I will have to transfer money to my Current account

Anonymous participant They can be used as additional evidence of financial stability but not for the 500K THB. Yeah, you have to transfer to your current many in similar situation inc myself.

I heard of cases when they asked for this amount evidence a few months back (I mean not only for the month you apply). In this case, it is better to wait and not apply, as obviously I can not provide this amount from few months earlier ...

Anonymous participant HCMH not need every month, final balance of 500K and 6 months statements. Laos you need 500K every month for 3 months.
