My DTV Visa Experience — From the Thai Embassy in Paris for a family of 3. Approved for all of us.
I thought I’d share my full timeline and experience applying for the Digital Nomad (DTV) visa via the Workcation category, in case it helps anyone here 👇
My Application (Main Applicant)
* Applied: August 23
* Category: Workcation
* Documents submitted:
* 3 invoices from my company
* My French business registration (Kbis)
* My company website
* My personal Revolut bank statement showing over 15,000 EUR for the last 3 months
* All the other standard documents listed on the embassy website
On September 9, they asked for an additional ID photo.
Visa approved on October 4.
So overall, it took around 6 weeks.
My Daughter’s Application
* Applied: October 5
* I submitted:
* All required documents
* A sponsor letter + my bank statement (as the main applicant)
* For “proof of presence in France,” I used her savings account statement showing her postal address
On October 15, they requested:
* A proof of accommodation (attestation d’hébergement)
* a phone bill under my name (the mother)
Visa approved on October 17
My Husband’s Application
* Applied: October 7
* He didn’t have the 15,000 EUR for 3 full months, only for 1 month,
but we decided to try with his own personal statement anyway.
On October 16, they asked for the main applicant’s bank statement (mine) showing 15,000 EUR for 3 months.
Visa approved on October 17
Conclusion
In the end, one single account with 15,000 EUR maintained over 3 months was enough for the three of us (main applicant + spouse + child).
⏳ Processing time:
* Mine: ~6 weeks
* Family: ~10–12 days
Hope this helps anyone preparing their own DTV application from France 🇫🇷✨
Visa approved 🤩 just wanted to share my experience, as I found some helpful tips in this fb group!
- I applyed from France on march 8 (with french passport) ⏳
- They requested for further documents on march 13 at 5PM: my picture wasn’t in the correct format ❌
- Visa approved on march 14 at 1PM ✅
Regarding my situation: I work as freelance for a few years and have my self-employed company (auto-entreprise).
What I provided:
- a letter (french and english) explaining my freelance activity, links to my website and Linkedin profile, and listing the documents included in my visa application. —> I mentioned that I don’t have a bank statement for this month from my savings account because it’s a low-activity account, used mostly for saving. I sent a statement from february. And I included a recent statement from my current account showing monthly transactions for my income and expenses. I also provided my bank’s direct phone number for any further questions.
- A portfolio (in english only) of 12 pages presenting my services, some of my clients (with screenshots showing some projects or dashboards), reviews from my clients, again the links to my website and LinkedIn page, a recent invoice sent to one of my client + with a bank statement showing that payment. For the portfolio, I took a template on Canva and rebranded it to match with my business.
- A certificate from my bank showing the balance of my accounts dates on 8 march.
- Insee French certificate regarding my freelance company.
- and of course : passport, photo, internet invoice.
I was supposed to wait 3-4 weeks before getting an answer! They did it actually very fast!
Does anyone who made a DTV request on Paris Thai Ambassy still lock on "pending approval" statut? And yes for how long do you wait now and also do you have some information from Ambsassy about this situation?
Update on my post from September 11 regarding our issue as Aussies trying to obtain our Non O/A visa through the Thai embassy in Paris. WELL, after 10days of emails and phone calls backwards and forwards to the Thai Embassy in paris. A couple of 2am calls to our banks in Australia, commonsense has prevailed and today I picked up our passports with our new visas. Thanks for all the constructive comments in the original post.
